so i've bene on pof for about a month, number closed a few n had some actually quite decent convo's but not with any of the really really hot like 11/10s or 10/10s

i decided like many others to fire up a womans account with a picture of a half decent looking girl i found on google just to see what pof would be like from their perspective.

all i can say is that in all honesty none of us should be wasting our time trying to contact any decent looking women on there. i had the profile set up and just left it signed in for about an hour. in that time i've had 78 messages about 50 favourites added and 15 meet me requests.

Now i can see a few problems with this:
first off she's never going to realistically read all of those messages let alone reply to them
its gonna make her head explode with ego
your message no matter how epic, cocky/funny or whatever u wanna call it will most probably jsut get lost in all the "hi how u doing" and "hi ur hot" messages so i really cannot see any point in bothering

like one of the posts below this one said, peopls may not have time to go out sarging or whatever but if im honest ur so much more likely to get a number close just by saying "hi your really pretty and i'd like to talk to u" out in public than u are trying on pof. just my two cents, say what u will about your own progress on there. i just cant see the point in wasting your time with that.

PoF is admittedly a lot worse than OKCupid for these reasons, as well as having a larger number of undesirable women (too old, too large, single mommies). Yet even with the massive amount of messages a woman receives (it levels off to about 30 messages a day after the profile is no longer new, at least in my area), I've still had moderate success. It should actually be called a phenomenal amount of success considering the amount of work that goes into getting to Day 2 via the internet. As far as a waste of time, that is complete nonsense. In the amount of time it took you to type this post, you could have messaged 5 or 6 women on PoF, OKC, or any number of other dating sites.

Most of the back and forth that I do from internet game is done while at work. Instead of internet game, how instead should I use that time to further a relationship?

I hear what you're saying, and so many men complain about the same thing. I think POF is overloaded because it's free, so it really doesn't work in your favour if you have to compete with 40+ others a day.

I live in Australia and have been on a site called RSVP where it's free to search and "kiss" (ie show interest and see if they are interested back), but if you want to send an email it costs. It's a great system because you don't have to play the numbers game and send a million email.

Look for sites that have some kind of set-up like that. You'll have a much better success rate and will waste a lot less time.
