not a huge drinker myself so I prefer sometimes to go out and not drink ? can this be a turn off to some girls? ive found its a mixed bag really in the sense that some chicks are like "wtf why arent u drinking?" some dont care and a few some support the the decision like " yeah good for you" blah blah blah alternatively i sometimes order a tonic and lime ( 1.. its yum, 2, it looks like a drink so girls arent going to be like Ohhhhh nice glass of water you've got there or stuff like that) or is that just being stupid? i dont know i just like being in control when i go out ? whats your views on drinking out in the field?
thanks,

I like you prefer not to drink in the field. I do drink with friends, not running game and have a great time. But I’m totally sober when I go out in the field. My preferred drink is diet coke. Looks like a whiskey coke but no alcohol. I always take out the straw and throw it away. Generally the bartenders put regular size straws in soda and little small straws in mixed drinks. I take all straws out regardless and throw them away or leave them on the bar top/table.
You said you like to stay in control when going out and not drinking. I agree. I
I like keeping my mind clear so I can gauge the situation, run openers, know the right thing to say at the right time, clearly see what’s going on and not miss out on any signals.
Also there's no chance of getting a dwi. I’ve been pulled over twice driving late at night by aggressive cops when I was doing nothing wrong.
One interesting fact, when going out to the same place it actually intrigues the female bartenders and staff. Why is this guy sober? Why doesn’t he need liquid courage? How is he so confident that he run all these openers on sets sober? In fact, I’ve actually had a female bartender put a little shot of whiskey in my diet coke while I watched and then smile as she handed it to me. I smiled back...
On the other hand, My wingman gets buzzed up before he goes out and stays buzzed the whole night. Personally it loosens up his shy, engineering personality. We’re both successful.
One note- If you chose to drink alcohol when going out, go to Amazon.com and buy a breathalyzer. You can get a real good one, similar to what the cops use, for $150. I personally have a Bactrack. It’s amazing how your blood alcohol content can go up and down, depending on how much you’ve had to eat, time between drinks, time from when you had your last drink to the time blowing in breathalyzer. Its cheap insurance and you know your exact BAC.
Also it attracts a lot attention and curiosity from others when you bring out a Breathalyzer and start using it. It can be a lot of fun and lead to some interesting conversations. Everyone likes to blow in it and find their BAC.
So to each his own. I have great success not drinking, my wingman has great success drinking. Just when you do…ordering something that looks like a drink. You’ll be happy in the morning. Trust me.
