I used to cut myself and as a result I have quite a few scars. Most of them are on my upper left arm and so are hidden by tshirts and don't usually cause me any problems. However I'm concerned that when I eventually start f-closing, girls are going to see them, think I'm crazy or something and then never want to speak to me again. The scars in and of themselves don't bother me. I'm only concerned that they're going to freak girls out. What should I say when they notice? It's pretty obvious how I got them too so I can't just say it was some kind of accident. No accident gives scars like these. Thanks guys.

I had a student of mine who used to cut himself and he felt the same way about his scars. I know its not something that is very easy to "accept" about yourself and it is something you want to look past. I suggested he get them covered up with tattoos and that's what he did... You can hardly even notice them now and the tattoo looks AWESOME. Some tattoo artists have a problem with tattooing over scars, so what you might want to do is build a tattoo around the scars and make them a part of your tattoo. Or, if a girl ever asks, don't be afraid to tell her how you USED to feel. You have grown as a man since and have been able to overcome those feelings. To alot of women, that is something that is very admirable. But tattoos will probably be your best bet as far as "hiding" them goes. Glad you're doing better now man. My ex used to cut herself and she told me how big of an addiction it was for her. Stay strong brother.

Thanks bro. I'll have a think about tattoos. In the meantime I hope you're right that they'd find it admirable that I've overcome things.
