I've heard that LA is the capital of PUA. Good luck finding some qualified wingmen. I've found that posting field reports and an introduction helped me connect with more people on the forums. Currently I'm headquartered in Seattle, and the next California trip is San Francisco. I'm still working on finding that LA wing posts that I noticed on the other forum. We've been putting some new ideas into place to get our Seattle scene growing. Hopefully in March we'll finally sit down and write up how to find spontaneous wingmen. I had a spontaneous wingman on Saturday night who help me last in set for way longer than would've happened otherwise. It turned out that his target was a mean barbie doll. The obstacle that I was winging away was really fun and polite. I was grateful that he was keeping barbie occupied for me.

Mystery is great with the way that he has taken evolutionary psychology and made it into something that we all enjoy. I really enjoyed reading Why Beautiful People Have More Daughters? However, I'd imagine that the traditional reading list will give you better information for game purposes. I believe that the top two evo-psych books on the list are Red Queen and Sperm Wars. I like to switch back and forth between studying lots of theory and engaging in lots of practice. Here's hoping March is more practice orientated.
