I'm not a student but 2 things I cant help with:

1. Nights out.
Try The Rocket on Euston Road, Tuesdays is particularly good. Lots of young people inc girls and the beer is 2 for 2.50!
Also try moonlighting in the west end. They have a night called cheapskates with drinks from 70p!!!! - Again lots of students inc chicks!

2. Cheap gym.
Try 'The Gym Group.com'. They are all over london!
£15.99 a month to join and open 24/7 - they have NO STAFF! This is where they reduce costs!

Good luck mate!
