Hello everyone.
Some of you might know my name on the forums here, other might not. Some of you might hate me, some you might love me.. that's your choice. Wether this is relevant to the topic is for you to decide at the end of my pledge.. you'll have more insight in what I mean with this introduction.
When we look at life and everything around us, there's a lot of things that are happening randomly. A man is walking with his dog around, there is a kid screaming because he is having fun on a slide or just some beautiful woman who are sitting on the grass talking about their boyfriends or last night's party.. a lot of things it seems. But how does it affect us, what is this .. this constant activity that we notice? As we walk through our daily lives none of us (or only some) will stand still and think about what is happening around him- or herself. Do we need to stand still? Do we want to stand still?
Everything that happens around is, is causing a reaction that is causing an internal response in your body. If you hear a woman scream suddenly, your head turns in the direction of the noise.. it's something that's triggered and happens before you know it. Now what's next.. what are we going to do next when we hear a cry for aid?
Do we stand stil? Do we move into the direction of this cry? Or rather.. do we pick our cellphones out the pockets and dial 911 or 112?
The
choice is yours!
But what is this.. what is choice? When we look into the dictionnairy, we find the following explanation:
Code:
[b]Choice[/b] (chois) n.
1. The act of choosing; selection.
2. The power, right, or liberty to choose; option.
3. One that is chosen.
4. A number or variety from which to choose: a wide choice of styles and colors.
5. The best or most preferable part.
6. Care in choosing.
7. An alternative.
As you can see, it is something that is control. Hence it has an outcome that you can control, that you decide. Wether the outcome is a predictable one, is uncertain, because there are factors that you can't control. However- the action itself, is completely up to you. Take this for example.
Code:
You are standing still into a corridor.. it is a long corridor and it really small. Behind you is a locked door and in front of you is a hall.. it's dark and it's really deep in length. What do you do?
Most of you will problebly say "
I move on forward because I can't go back. I don't have a choice." they feel obligated to say that they don't have it.. because they can't go back anyway. But what about standing still? Not moving - isn't that a choice aswel?
Regarding PU - choices are there to be made constantly. A lot of you will come here and ask themself what choices do I have, how do I do this and when do I do think. Only thinking that they must chose to select an option that is given by them in advance, rather then to think straight and find a viable solution for themselves which in turn brings a result from a choice that they made with a clear mind.
With this post, I'm trying to make obvious that PU isn't something that's regular. It's a choice. Every move, every sentence.. is a choice that you make. What determination that you use, to complete the choice or the action is entirely up to you.
BUT
Be aware that the choices that you make, are giving an unpredictable result at times and that the choices you made are made in the first place for a reason.
So what do we conclude out of
this?
