I was walking down the street tonight on my way home from work, happy that the weekend was here. And I suddenly started commenting to myself about everyone I passed by and whether or not I would sleep with that person. Women, men, little old ladies -- I commented on everyone. So the narrative (in a funny, fake-Slavic accent) sounded like this: "Not you ... not you ... not you ... definitely not you ..." and on and on. (I did it from far enough away that no one could hear me -- didn't want to insult people to their face.) But then something really unexpected happened. A hot woman came along, and my face just organically burst into a huge smile. And she gave me a big smile back. I was so shocked about how this smile so involuntarily and so naturally and so quickly sprang up that I was already halfway down the block before I came back to my senses and realized I hadn't bothered to stop and talk to her. I turned around, but she was out of sight, so I kept walking and started up my little game again, muttering to myself about each person I passed: "Not you ... not you or you or you ... and definitely not you ..." and so on. And then, after a few more blocks, another hot woman came along -- this one even more beautiful than the first one, and again my face erupted in a giant smile. And again the woman flashed me a big smile in return. This time, though, I walked over and started talking. And ten minutes later, we had plans to get together next week and we had swapped numbers.
