so there's this HB7.5 that I'm jocking at my college (she thinks she's a 9 though cos she gets jocked like crazy). anyways...she has been giving me some IOI's (came and said hi to me when I was playing ball, eye contact, etc.)

so the other day, i tell her that she needs to take me to the shop to pick up my car...she snaps and says "oh I NEED to take you?!? if you want me to do you a favor, try asking politely!" and storms off.

I was all like wtf?!?!

I know the perception of acting dominant and acting rude would vary depending on the girl. But what is a general rule you guys go by to determine the difference btwn acting dominant and being rude?

Well, you might want to study the alpha male a little more closely..... Yes, the alpha male is dominant, but he is not rude. Now, many alpha males may be rude, but that is not what defines the alpha male anymore than having brown hair or playing football.

Look at Tom Cruise, Style always brings him up as the prototype alpha male. He is an alpha male to the extreme. The guy is a lot of things -- arrogant, cocky, confident, even damn near beligerant. But he isn't rude. For instance, even when he says something like "you need to take me to pick up my car," he says it in a way that makes you comfortable, makes you want to do it, rather than offend you.

Keep in mind, what you say is only 10% of how it is perceived. How you say it and the body language you use while saying it comprises how it is received and ultimately what the outcome will be. You just told her you needed a ride.... and she blew up. But you could've told her to "shut the fuck up" ..... but if you said it the right way, and with the right body language, she would have drove off laughing with you.

But yeah... just because lots of alpha males we see happen to be rude, that isn't inherently part of the alpha male. However good those guys do, they'd do better without the blatant rudeness.
