Why make it a contest? Contests are fun at first but after awhile they get boring. Your problem is you went in this with the wrong mind set/view point. Just have fun with this. There is no reason to make it a contest. Making it a contest works more against you than for you actually.
I agree.
Life is not a competition of you versus the world. Initially seeing it like that may provide you with motivation to succeed, but ultimately you're walking around with a poisonous belief that will negatively affect you.
Under the assumption that life is a competition, then if I want to "win" really badly, I will start bending my own ethical rules and start lying or cheating or stealing to get those extra results. If every girl is just a target and you HAVE to have as many as possible, then it's a small step to start going around AMOGing guys, stealing girlfriends, breaking up marriages and generally focusing on getting yours and fucking over a lot of people in the process. This is called being a douchebag.
If you think about life as a competition against YOURSELF, where you set new goals every day and try to achieve them for your own personal happiness, then you've got a great attitude because then you stop worrying about what other people are doing, and what other people think about you, and focus on making the most of what you have and improving the aspects of your life that you value.
This is why everyone should do exercise because you get concrete results you can see and feel based on exactly how much effort you put in which improves your physical appearance and gives you more confidence and self-belief. There is no point thinking about how much bigger that other guy's muscles are, all you can do is set your goals and try your best to improve your body as much as possible.
