Hey I'm a car salesman. I tend to get bitch shields on female customers at work sometimes. I can handle them fine at the pub though work is different story.

Generally a bitch shield at work is like so;
ME. Hey guys how are you today?
BS. Where just looking. (negative body language turn away)

Why can't you use what you do in the club on the customer(s)?

I work in retail and get this all the time, some people can assume that you are only trying to sell a product. You have to atleast have a smile and be welcoming to answer any questions they have.

Normally what I would say to this is

Me:How are you ladies, folks, both, whatever comes into the doorway doing today
Customer:Just fine thank you
Me: Ok then if you have any questions or something has caught your eye just give me a shout my name is Gifted1ne.
Customer: ok

One thing as well don't use guys when referring to woman some can take that the wrong way. Had a guy snap on one of my coworkers saying his wife is not a guy.
So that can be why there is a bitch shield up as well.

Not Every girl is going to be instantly attracted to you it is what you do that makes them attracted to you.

Well in a club i tell them there sexy and i love firey women etc.
And some of them are older and general pickup stuff isnt always appropriate.
In a club i do value engineering so if i hit a 'defencive' bitch shield ill turn to another set or im already in one and i just turn to another girl. I dont always have that option at work.

I always thought sales and pickup went hand in hand, as both are trying to close the girl but for different reasons. I know there are things that you can do while you game a girl and can't do when your at your job. But can't you power threw the bitch shield? In other words not it disarm you?

having only sold cars briefly I can tell you the less interested you seem in money the more willing they are to trust you.

informal seemed to work better for the clientele i was around. Instead of how are you? I'd say what's up guys, hey guys.

when it came to closing I'd tell them where else they could buy the car, and suggest that they check out those places too with the mentality that ours was the best price. They trusted me and didn't bother to check the other places.
