Probably about as elementary an IOI in pick up as you can get, but I’m really fascinated with hair flipping as a hardwired component. It probably the easiest non verbal IOI to see but yet I think most guys really are clueless to it unless they naturally do well with women or are in the community.

Just in my last year and a half of progress in pick up the level of this I notice went from just a little flip here and there at the start to some of the things I see now are like the hair olympics.

I’ve seen girls I was picking up take two hands make ponytails of all their hair to one side and stroke and prune it twirl it while talking to me, I’ve seen them make to pig tails with their hands and wrap it around their face like a muslim head dress, Ive seen them put it all on top of their head in ball and shake it out, crazy hair play like that. They absolutely can’t help it when you get them really into you. Even the girls that are trying to act aloof like they like aren't into you flip their hair nervously like they are trying hard not to.

Theres also one signal that is very common for me to get now I never got back in the day or had read about, and it looks pretty universal that just screams IOI even when you haven’t opened a girl. Basically the chick will be standing beside of me will look down and away at where you can’t see her face at all and run her fingers in her hair and kind of shake and fluff it up in your direction. It always looks the same too regardless of girl, kind of robotic like.

Uh hair flipping does not mean a girl is giving you IOI all the time. Hair flipping may also mean the following:

- The girl is bored
- Playing with hair out of habit
- She is nervous/anxious

But. It often does. I've read a lot of books on non-verbal communication, and the general consensus is that although we have these 'rules' about what body language means, it is always subject to the three C's:

-Context
-Culture
-Csomething else I can't remember.

I think I know what you mean. I pulled a girl pretty much exactly a month ago now who does this a lot. I don't get it that much here in Cambridge though. Get it more from the quieter ones though.

I think you're talking about the five C's actually: Context, Cluster, Congruence, Consistency, Culture.

And as for the main post - When watching for body language you gotta look for a group of gestures, one is simply not enough. It can have several interpretations like said above. It's kinda like the same when looking for IOI's.

There is no such thing as an IOI. There I said it.

There is no standard formula of sussing out a girl's interest. There are times when a girl has been distant with me all night then as soon as I go in for the kiss she is on me like white on rice. At other times I have got lots of green light signals but then get knocked back at the last instant. It is impossible to tell.

Usually if she is out on a date with you SHE WANTS YOU. Usually if she is putting up with you for more than 5 minutes SHE WANTS YOU.

If you start going by that sort of motto instead of worrying about hair flips, the way she touches glass etc. you will get more success.

I think the difference is pretty obvious at this point which is which, assuming a person can read the accompanying facial expressions. In general those are pretty easy to ascertain IMO. Bordom, intrest, excited, nervous etc.

Playing with hair doesnt mean a lot if there is no other signs...

Today i was at drink in one caffe club...

There were at the other table some blue chick and some guy... So i was watching them (not staring, just to see their body lang kuz im reading about body lang lately)...

She was giving him so many IOI's sub-consciously... He was calm and watching her in the eyes all the time... but she was definitely on xD...

She was leaning in to him all the time while talking (no matter if she was listening or talking), thou he didnt lean to her... She was nervous a lil bit... And at the end she started to play with her had (and no she was not bored, she was smiling all the time)...

So just hair play isnt enough... Where is the smile, other body signs etc ?

I listed those things as the op only thought hair flipping was only an IOI and had no other meaning to it. And yes when you combine facial expression with the hair flipping you can pretty much know what her body language.

I think *sometimes* it can be used to get a guys attention, since long hair is beautiful. But I think most of the time, it's just habit or they're bored, like previously stated.

However I guess it is good mentality to think "oh damn, IOI!" since girls are always DTF

IMHO it can be taken as a IOI, if it's accompanied by other IOI's. For girls it's pretty hard IOI, showing that she wants to seduce you (she's playing with her hair to get your attention).

tasty, it's your SISTER. As listed somewhere on top, hair toss can mean a lot of things; boredoom, sexual interest, non-sexual interest (I know a girl who plays with her hair whenever she's thinking hard about something). It depends on other signals you get.

I've seen way to much at this point to not believe it's hardwired, and I really believe it's done on and unconscious level. Plus there is science behind it as hair is an indicator of health as well as youth. Stands to reason to me women would biolgically be hardwired to use it as a sexual signal no differently than the way men of high value signal women.

I've seen girls ive approached with hair in a pony tail pulled back and they still try to flip it around their ear as soon as I open them. I see it all the time when many girls as soon as they laid eyes on me. It also nearly always looks the same at the start of the open, the hand makes a C shape over the ear, usually quickly to get the hand up to the hair so you will see it and then slowly back around. Usually the best are the ones you kind of suprise, and they nervously flip it almost like an auto response to seeing a male who is possibly high value who has approached them, it's almost 100% of the time on these approaches.

One of the crazest things I saw was at the grocery store once. 3 teenage girls looked to be like 16 ish walking through the parking lot, and a car of guys yelled something at them from behing and like clock work all 3 in unison did the exact same flip and started fluffing it and whatnot after, there is defintly something to it.
I used to have long hair, I'm certain there are times you need it out of your eyes or face or you just run your fingers through it, but there is defeiently something more to it as well and like the other guy said context and accompany body language make it easy to tell which is which IMO. Ive seen way to much, no way every time I approach a chick she is bored or needs to get the hair out of her face at that exact moment. When im in state and feeling great its almost automaticaly when I open a chick.

Dude just because a girl is flipping her hair does NOT mean she is giving you an IOI. Stop assuming this as it is not true all the time.
