Such a bold title for such a seemingly pointless topic
But now I have your attention, I shall begin
Theres a lot of people that after being in the community for a while, like to start throwing around the idea that, "you don't need game, you just gotta be yourself" ...and I agree, also, people start throwing around a similar idea that "you already have game you just don't realise it", and I also agree with that. However, I believe theres two types of people who get into this...
People who have game, and people who don't.

People who have game
I think a lot of people, come into the community, with tonnessssssssss of pre-existing skills/traits/behaviours that would be insanely beneficial to use in their 'game'. The only reason they aren't having success with girls, is because they're not using them, and being inhibited, and supressing these traits when around girls. Now of course, from person to person, the skills themselfs differ and of course, some people have more surpressed than others. I believe I fell into this category, for me, over time, I realised, especially at the beginning, I was wasting time 'learning' a method/material, simply because it's trying to build into you a set of traits/characteristics that you may alread have/not need etc, and this ends up detrimental to your progress, as you end up losing site of your natural abilities and using other skills, at a lesser level.
I think for these types of people, its still very beneficial to read material and learn how what they do works, maybe get new ideas on how to make it work, and learn what NOT to do.
All you have to do is that, and learn to be comfortable to express yourself freely. Whether you end up using indirect/direct cocky/funny/asshole whatever, you'll more than likely have at least one of the traits that WILL get you success, you just need to allow yourself to express that.
People who don't have game
I can't really say much FOR these people, as I don't feel I'm coming from the same place as them. But I have met a good amount of people from the community, who are genuinely weird, and I don't mean 'the community made them weird', I mean the poor guys, nothing physically wrong with them, no mental illnesses either, they just for some reason have no good social traits, their only skills seem to stretch as far as they understand a language so they are able to communicate. I personally feel these are the people, who full methods prove most useful for. As it enable them to learn one of the traits that they unfortunately seem to lack.
Why am I saying all this? (I'm sure a lot of people are wondering that)
Well, the text above, may not help you improve your game, and it may not help anyone reading improve their game. But it does serve a purpose, and that purpose being to remind people, that not EVERYONE can take the advice 'just be you' 'just say what you want' 'just go for what you want' 'just talk to her' etc etc etc, and make it work.
And I hate seeing that advice thrown to people so loosely, as some people reallyyyyy need to learn something, and need something/someone to learn from.
It's generally quite easy to tell between the people who already have the skills, and the ones who don't.
People need to realise that everyone is different, guide them in the right direction to help them down their own path, and stop trying to direct them down your path. It may work for you, but it doesn't make it the divine path/rule etc. If you think the exact same rules apply to everyone, then I'm sure this causes problem with your game too.
