| The Mystery Method. Your mainstream resource to pickup.
(I couldn't post this in the general discussion so I thought i'd put this under the Miscellaneous)
A few months back I was chatting it up with one of my good friends, Slim Jim, about his school of pick up, the Mystery Method. Slim Jim argued that this method was far superior to any other method he’d encountered solely because it was a system that guaranteed you a large array of women. That is to say, he claimed that the Mystery Method was formulated to help you hook up with HB’s ranging from 1’s all the way up to 10’s.
When I heard him present his case, I went beast mode on him. Don’t get me wrong, I really do like the Mystery Method and certainly do incorporate certain aspects of it into my game (eg. false time constraints, opinion openers, and DHV’s). However, unlike my good buddy Slim Jim who applies the method to every girl his eyes lay upon, I use it on rare circumstances. More specifically, I apply it to women I personally value as nine or tens.
For starters, consider this scenario.
Imagine yourself a die-hard disciple for the Mystery Method and stumble across a three set- your target (HB6), and two HB5’s- whom you decided to practice your skill on just for kicks. You realize that you throw in your opener and false time constrain at the right moment and execute the first phase, A1, wonderfully. As a Mystery student, the next logical step would be to NEG your target, HB6. As a result, you hammer HB6 with classic Mystery negs such as “Wow, is that a wig?” or “Damn, you have man hands.” These negs are then followed with ignoring the target and paying more attention to the rest of the group. Unfortunately, you receive subtle communications revealing that HB6 doesn’t want anything to do with you. In other words, she thinks you’re shady and utterly disrespectful.
You think to yourself, “What did I do wrong? I obviously followed the Mystery Method precisely, yet didn’t get HB6.”
Here’s why I use the Mystery Method when I try and game ONLY 9’s and 10’s. Unlike an HB10, an HB6 really does take negs to the heart. This maybe because she thinks and realizes that she’s not the hottest girl most guys would drool over. By negging her, you are only ENFORCING this notion she has about herself and will believe you actually want nothing to do with her. Hence, she leaves and will probably think of you as an asshole. In the other hand, if you were to apply the Mystery Method to a 9 or 10, chances are she may not take negs as harsh and will probably respond by trying to prove herself to you. I’m not saying that the Mystery Method is the only pick up formula for gaming 9’s and 10’s. On the contrary, there are other awesome innovative ideas that have proven successful. This method is just my choice (on rare occasions) to game high caliber chicks. I personally prefer going in full of energy and direct.
We have to remember that Mystery was a horn dog. He personally liked gamming strippers and beautiful hired guns. In my opinion, I believe Mystery originally formulated his book to help guys hook up with smoking strippers. As we know, strippers are typically those 9 or 10’s we were talking about.
What I’ve realized is that a bunch of guys, who initially join this PU art, put so much faith in the Mystery Method that they use it indiscriminately. As mentioned before, I prefer using it only on super hot girls and not on HB8’s and below.
Please take everything I’ve said with a gain salt. I myself still have a long journey to go before I can consider myself good at PU. I just thought I’d share some of my views about this classic school. Anyone is more than welcomed to argue my point.
Hope everyone has a kickass week.
Cheers,
Ninetee
