I've been doing, or trying to do, PU for a long time now, since I was a sophomore in highschool, so I guess about 4 or 5 years now and for as long as I've known about all this and have been studying it, I should admittedly be a hell of a lot better than I am. However, my own worst enemy was always me. Too shy, mainly. I was actually deathly shy, with approach anxiety from hell. But that's not what I'm here to talk about.

Lately, I've been trying it alot more and have been practicing it, not as much as I'd like, but I'm busy all the time. Now I've been having really good results lately and I'm using very little canned material at all; and when I do it's always been in the seduction phase and never in the pickup itself.

My favorite opener? You might sneer at it for being too AFC, but I make eye contact with a girl, put a big smile on my face and just say, "Hey, how you doing?" or something to that effect. I always get a smile in response and a "good, how about you?" I guess in my mind the fact that she asked me how I'm doing gives me all the permission I need to keep the meeting going, even though I know logically she's just being polite most likely.

After the opener, I just start talking and flirting, I don't ask all the questions that she's always hearing, I just start making open ended comments and I may not even be looking at her. A page I took out of Juggler's book I guess. She responds and I keep talking and keep changing the topics and before I know it she starts asking me all those same questions that guys are always asking her. I take this as my second IOI.

After I've been teasing her and whatnot here and there and throwing in flirtatious comments, I go for the number close. (I do mainly day game and workplace game). If she likes dancing, which let's be honest, almost every girl does, I say, "hey, since you like dancing we should definitely dance next time you're out at [insert club name here]." I have no idea why, but I get a number close every time I use this line. Even though I know it's just a reason to get her number, and I may never actually plan on dancing with this girl and I'm reasonably sure that she knows it too, she gives me her number.

I think I've developed several - I'm not sure what to call them - but basically they're situational routines that fit my personality and allow me to convey it well and they alter each time I use them; I can't even give an example of one of them because I can never remember what exactly I said. They follow a rough outline I suppose and everything I say and do just builds on the previous thing I said or did. I'm trying to give the outline, but I honestly can't think of it. I guess I follow the rough PU outline: Open, engage, NEG, DHV, until I get IOIs and then flirt, SOI, and make her qualify herself. Once she qualifies herself, I go for the number close. I'm a busy man, no need to stick around and talk her ear off.

The kiss close, I've been getting more and more lately. Again it just depends on the situation, what I do or say if I even say anything varies from situation to situation. I'm working on it though.

When I'm in clubs I don't use any routines, I just go out to have a good time and girls notice and hang around me because they want to have a good time too. I'm not that crazy about club game though.

So when I do use the canned material, because I do. It's usually after the pick up just to keep her interested and get her more attracted, as well as the ever-present filler to keep us occupied when I have brain farts.

I'm not even going to attempt to give discourse on the seduction phase yet because I'm still learning and trying to figure that one out; however, I think I'm finally at the point where the pickup itself is the easiest part for me. I get it, it makes sense. I don't want some random girl coming up and hitting on me before I've had a chance to talk to her and see if she's reasonably interesting; it's happened before, and it kind of freaks me out to be honest. So, I can understand why a girl wouldn't want the same thing happening to her. I get it. I think.

So, those are my thoughts on the pickup phase and all that. I'm gonna keep working on everything and hopefully the seduction phase will be as easy for me as the pickup before too long.
