Do you guys believe that Astrology can be used as a helpful tool in having better understanding of people and the way they are?

I'm not talking about using Astrology to get into a girl's pants. I'm talking about actually understanding one's signs and it's connections with you and everyone around you.

Depends, I've never really bought into Astrology but I have noticed it's tendency to be dead-on.

I'm a pisces, and by the traditional definition we run with our emotions. Now the deal is I'm a pretty logical person, but I do tend to get my judgment clouded by my feelings pretty often. Deal is, following your emotions can and will get you fucked over if you're not being careful. So yes, I do think I'm more prone to act on a sudden feeling than others. Whether or not that's a good thing is up for grabs.

Yea, the reason why I decided to start this topic was because the other day I had a book about Astrology and Love. By chance, I brought it to my job and my co-workers read it throughout their breaks and they all (and I mean ALL) felt connected to what the book was saying about their signs.

I started thinking to myself "Man, I wonder if Astrology can, in any shape or form, help create a better understandings of our own ambitions, dreams, and wants." Or even create a better understanding of a person that you may like. Not only that, but I'm curious if anyone feels the same way with Astrology like I do. I, personally feel, that it's a great tool that helps you understand more about you as an entity, whether it be you as a person or just.... a being, you know.

Hate to be captain bringdown here but astrology doesn't work man, just like palmistry or tea-leaf reading it works on the principles of cold reading. Google "forer and barnum statements" or "the forer and barnum effect" and you'll see it explained. Alternatively, watch this:

It'd be great to think it actually worked but there's no reason to believe that there could be a correlation between someone's personality or even their future based on the positions of stars.

That said, if you do have an understanding of astrology it's great as "chick crack". You can use it to read a girl in-field as a fantastic way of building comfort.

I'd avoid the "so what's your sign" line though.

Suzanne Whites "The New Astrology" is a fascinating read, and not widely known. It combines Eastern and Western Astrology, and I've had great success pulling women who otherwise think they know all about Astrology.
