Well, I'm off to San Fran next Friday or Saturday and have no clue where to begin. As far as openers, I can pull the tourist thing, but I'm from the South, so what's different about the women on the west coast that I should know about?

Well for one thing, women here in California tend to be much more liberal than southern girls. This is especially true in San Francisco. Also, while I don't personally believe this, people in the west coast sometimes think that a southern accent = lower intelligence. People won't admit this, but we have a very media-influenced view of southerners (ie. hicks, rednecks, etc.) so if you have a really strong southern accent, I'd suggest having a lot of intelligent things to say so you come off as alpha. Again, I don't share that stereotype (you can thank Larry the Cable Guy for promoting it), but it is a reality in a number of areas in California

Intolerance isn't tolerated. Here in Cali, people hug trees because they think it's cool and straight people are pressured into partaking in homosexuality. I was so scared when I first moved here from Jacksonville. lolz

Open-mindedness is just pretty big here.

When you get here, hopefully I'll be not sick. I've pretty much been going through hell and isolation these past several days from a bad case of acute tonsillitis and recovery from shoulder surgery. Dude I am on soooo many meds lol
