Generally speaking, you'd be well advised to wife up before you hit 50.
I've seen plenty of guys do pretty well into their 40s, but around 50, their success with women starts falling off a cliff. They've gotten entirely too old to date younger women, some guys who are 45 can look to be in their 30s. It's not how old you are, but how old you look.
However, when you clear 50, %95+ of men start rapidly looking their age. It also comes with pretty severe drops in testosterone. At which point, you not only look older, but have lower drive to get out there and try.
I've known guys in their 40s, dating women in their early 20s. But 50+? At best, mid-30s. In most cases, the age of women you have to start dating, begins to rise at about 2-3x the rate you're aging(IE 48=26, 49=28, 50=31 51=33 52=36 53=39). You really do not want to date women who are 40+ from what I've seen.
There are plenty of good, single women in their 30s. Either because they didn't want to get married, were very career focused, or had one lame husband from a young age and haven't been single for long.
Single women over 40, do not look good, by and large and most are emotionally and mentally damaged when it comes to relationships.
So my plan is, have fun until my 40s, then pick a suitable younger woman for a wife, and start a family. Guaranteed success? No, there are no sure things in life. But looking at what I've seen, I don't like my prospects as a single man over 50.
those are my exact plans also, really i was looking to get married along the lines of 35-40 if i did get married
