I've worked in investment banking for a number of years (very male dominated environment) and over time have realised the importance of a
good quality, assertive voice that's easy on the ear but command respects.

I personally always had a nasal voice and not what you would call alpha, so decided to get voice lessons to improve general quality of my voice.

I was told people can generally tell your gender, body shape, social class and even race from how you sound.

So I thought i'd put it to the test. From the audio clip below, what would you say is my:

I only recently realised how important the voice is, not in terms of words spoken but the quality, depth, pace ...

I'm trying out a few exercises to strengthen the neck muscles and help me generate a deeper more resonating tone.

Think its critical to make a good first impression, and come across as alpha.

Your voice does seem a bit nasal.

You shouldn't have said you did investment banking, as I do also think you're upper class.

Your accent leads me to assume you're white.

Average body shape is a good enough guess.

Unfortunately, I haven't been blessed with a strong full voice and at the moment really have to make a conscious effort to sound strong and dominate.

I feel this is the weakest part of my game. But as with anything worth having it doesn't come easy.

As a by-product I've also realised how weak my eye contact really is.

I've never paid much attention to the non verbal part of the game, but it is massive and can change everything.

I think:
