I am willing to pay a high price for high quality; I don't want 2/3 of it to go into legal trademark-infringement litigation department coffers, et cetera. I want to pay exactly for what I'm physically getting.

Woodbury commons if you have a car around NYC (it's 1hr+ away). Otherwise you can find everything in NYC but you will pay for it. (We have saks, bergedorf and bloomies). For watches .. good luck, $1000-$3000 will not get you a high end watch anywhere in the world unless it is a fake, and then just get it online for $300.
