I'm not saying what the right thing to do is. I'm saying what is the thing to do that will get her back.

Imo... right thing to do would be something along the lines of "Okay. I still really care about you so if you change your mind let me know. If not, I had fun."

HOWEVER... I noticed that on some girls it drives them nuts if you respond with just "Okay lol".

There is no one size fits all. Depends on the reason for the break up...

Why do you people program responses for certain situations?
A breakup can be either because you guys did not cling well or because one of you made a mistake.

It all funnels down to what you want AFTER the breakup occurs.
