Hello guys,

I am a British student with a Degree in psychology currently contemplating studying a Masters. My thesis will be on or surrounding Pick-up artistry and the game. This is simply a quick post to ascertain two things.

Firstly, are there any topics or ideas concerning the area of pick-up you do not feel is covered correctly by the media?
Secondly would you consider being a participant in a study concerning pick-up in the near future?

I honestly enjoy a pretty solid overall perspective of courtship and pick up but it would be more interesting to hear more research into a woman's mind in regards to sexual arousal... But I got an already very good understanding of the big picture....

As far as our minds go... that would be the topic of interest... why does a natural develop his mindset... how do we develop it? ETC. Stuff in regards to naturals, and successful PUAs is where I think a lot of research would be interesting...

When it comes to the media there will always be distortion... it's truly up to you to be educated on what is true and false and not just listen to what other people think. Don't believe everything people say.... They definitely have quite a bit of assumptions about the community due to previous sleazy behavior by other men looking to become PUAs.

I wouldn't mind participating in anything...

I also have a degree in psychology and have given this some thought.

I had interest in making seduction as empirical as possible, with putting any sort of method to it that I could put my hand on. Most attraction studies look at simple variables, while actual seduction is more complicated.

The difficulty that is coming up now is that seduction is being simplified more and more. I agree with Vic that looking at naturals would be one of the interesting things to look at. Seduction is becoming more of a "improve your inner-game" first, as in "try to become more like a natural," so looking at the development of a non-natural based on self-assessment and assessment of others could work.

Looking into calibration would be an interesting topic.


Pick-up in itself is a loaded term. I think many people have negative associations with it, and prefer to use the term seduction. Pick-up mainly came about as a marketing ploy, letting people think there is a new phenomenon to attracting women.


I wouldn't mind participating in a study either.
