So theres a lot of talk about girls being more personality oriented and guys being more physically oriented. Thats kind of true, but i think people really mistake it. To be honest, i find girls much shallower and more physically judgmental about guys. The difference is where guys are judging girls worth based on their appearance, girls are judging your inner character based on your appearance and then basing your worth off that. they can take one look at you and say, "he's trying too hard", "he's really muscular so he looks like a douchebag", "his clothes suggest he's lazy and selfish". Its not really accurate or fair, but studies show women are judging you even based on the color of your complexion! (redder means healthier, i guess?) Some of these studies have vague evolutionary explanations, but i'm pretty sure its a product of the pop culture society, too many women read those articles on "how to judge men based on their shoes" and pass on bad advice to their peers. Meanwhile men have no idea what their shoes are suggesting and just wear whatever they like.

Men seek replication value and the best physical traits to produce the healthiest offspring.

Women seek survival value and personality traits (the traits of the alpha male) to give them and their offspring the best chances of survival.

I don't agree, because first of all it falls into the trap of assuming women are a hive mind. I don't think I've ever met a woman, and I've met hundreds, that has ever read one of those 'how to judge men based on their shoes' article. I think judging someone based on their fashion is just a natural function, when you see a guy running around with a mustard stained t-shirt you're going to have assumptions. Part of the magic of 'peacocking' is you take those presuppositions and you SPIN THEM TO YOUR ADVANTAGE.

With that said, the initial opinions don't matter. What actually happens in the interaction supercedes all; at least that's been my experience.

Judging someone based on their complexion makes sense physically, as we're primed to find mates that will be good mates for us and find us attractive in return.

Tl;dr look as good as you can and develop your game.
