imagine someone with low self esteem, with no life force in him (energy), has impulses that make him terrible decisions (like spend more than he owns), a temper so bad he throws coffee at the clerk because she gives him incorrect change, has ZERO enthusiasm for life or anything.... Has better chances raping someone from a graveyard then getting laid. Don't you think he has a strong need to change aspects of his personality?

Yes, there are core parts of our personality we cannot change. But there are many aspects that we can.

What you need to understand is this. You can change your habits and how you feel about things, but everything you have done in the past is a part of you. It sticks with you. It cannot be erased. If you have a bad temper under the right circumstances it will come out again.If you have low self-esteem your susceptible to having low self-esteem again. If you were a criminal before you are susceptible to becoming a criminal again. People can't change what they are. They can only build around it and make use of whats there. If you understand this it will save you a lot of frustration.
