Ah Zac you misinterpetted, Zhazen needs concentration and works with qaulity over quantity.

I was merely wondering if this rule transferred back to "chakra meditation".

Hehe, I guess there's a reason the techniques are so easily applicable even if you are not one of those who feel the need to understand every aspect.
I'm not either looking for the complete story of why the things work.... I'm more curious in the how, and what happens when you do this.

There's a breathing technique in Yoga, (I'm not a yoga-practitioner, but I'm considering joining some crash-course and getting the basics) which is called kapalabhati... I felt good doing it, You may want to look it up and try some of the different breathings.... (They mostly focus on using the entire lung, rather than breathing shallowly like most of us do. Using; your belly.)

Btw. I'll give you a nice technique you can use to increase your general happiness:
Sit down, once a day, you can do this after meditating like it's described here, and write down reasons you are happy, or just general things you are grateful for.

Make a small list, just for your own sake.
(It can be really helpful if you have to go through trying times, and has proven health-benefits. ;))

It helps you keep the focus on the positive aspects, which sometimes can disappear in the business of a stressful every-day.

exactly how i feel.

tantra gets a bad rap. yoga gets a bad rap. we are taught to think they are little classes that girls go to in the gym, or weird sex weekends where girls with armpit hair chant naked with guys with ponytails.

but there are so many things you can learn from these traditions (just like you can learn from physical training, or improv, or acting, or singing) that are designed to make you feel more confident and happy... why not try them and take what you can get.

i mean, i think NLP is totally weird and possibly evil, but i got a lot from learning about eye cues.

take what you can from everywhere and keep what works for you. no one person has all the answers for you.

Alright, I decided to give it a try during class. The teacher was boring so I had to occupy myself anyway.

I cleared out my mind, breath in and out slowly, thinking about the gorgeous girl that was sitting infront of me, focused myself on the stream of energy going through my body. I felt kinda woozy and warm inside.

she turned around and started talking to me

out of nowhere. She asked my opinion about her nails. I complemented her on them with a geniune smile on my face. We chatted for a bit then the teacher got mad at her for not paying attention to his dull class.

Thinking to myself, maybe this actually works.
So I tried it again.

Guess what happened... She turned around again.

It was awesome.

When it comes to NLP, I agree, in a way.
It certainly can be pretty weird, and of course, it can be used with strictly egocentric intentions. (my definition of evil is careless egocentric behavior.)
I consider NLP to be, basically, a demystified way of Hypnosis. (but much more subtle)
That's why I want to master it...

It's not so much to use it myself, unless a good reason presents itself, but more because knowing the basic techniques will let you identify them when people try to manipulate you into wanting something you don't.
(which is where you are allowed to fuck around with their heads and hand them suggestions.)


Btw. I recommend that people look up the book called <i>"Influence: Science and Practice" or "Influence: The psychology of persuasion"</i> (Same book, different versions) by Robert B Cialdini.. It is a mind opener when it comes to social rules and such which we are all subject to.
Like the way we accept what we're told by Authority: Look up Milgram's Experiment. (I think Derren Brown pretty recently re-created the experiment. go youtube)

It also brings to attention more known things like the Halo effect.
How we assume positive attributes in beautiful people. and so on.


I think it's fascinating that Tantra get a bad rap. Since it's not with women it gets bad rap.
It's just among the classic blockhead, wanna-be "Alpha" males.. and you know what I mean by that.
The homophobic, the insecure....

Talking openly about Yoga or Tantra with women is great DHV, at least in their eyes.


I totally agree on the final statement, Sean.
Reminds me of Bruce Lee.
You do what works, and discard what don't, and what works for one person may not work as well for another.

This is cool stuff.

It tried it first last night before I went to bed. After about 10 minutes of doing this I opened my eyes and felt as if I had just entered my reality again for the first time. But it was a new reality. Everything was novel and there were no problems or worries for me.

At this point i decided to take a look at myself in the mirror. My eyes had rested into a permanent gaze and i had this half smirk on my face. The unique thing about it was that it was so genuine. I looked like i was completely in love or something. It's a look i can't duplicate without feeling it. I could see why women would be attracted to this look. To top it off i fell asleep right away when usually it takes me a good 20 minutes of tossing in bed.

So i tried this again this morning. It worked! My girlfriend looked at me differently when i talked to her - as if i had some new sexy appeal. I felt like gold in class, but it only lasted about 30 minutes before it wore off.

I tried it again in my car before i went into the grocery store and like magic every girl i gazed at smiled at me wide and looked like they were ready for me to sweep them of thier feet.

So here are my questions:

1) What have you found to be the longest you can sustain this state? I have trouble reaching it when I'm not alone with my eyes closed.

2) I can get the feeling in my groin but i find it difficult to locate that surge of energy in my chest. When I am going from groin to chest am i supposed to visualize breathing from my groin and transferring the energy to my chest? Or am i supposed to try and just feel energy going straight into my chest without regard to my groin?

I have been doing this everyday for a week and i don't feel any change. Whats that about? I dont feel the warm sensation in my heart or the tingly feeling you talk about.

what do you feel? whatever you feel is where you are at, and that's totally cool. some people feel something big right away. some people feel it more subtly. but no matter what, it gets better over time (and by time, i mean just one month. if you do this every day for a month and feel nothing, call a hearse cos you are clinically dead. )

i call it The Wooderson, after one of my favorite characters in Dazed and Confused. It's like you're stoned on love. and chicks DIG it. :D

I've been doing training like this for over a year and doing more every day, and i find that my years of sports and visualizations and workouts really prepped me well, so on an average day, with 2 hours of training, I can maintain this kind of state all day.

Not every minute of every day, but it's pretty close.

I'm feeling it now. :D

what i found works best is you start by really breathing into your groin till it's all warmed up, and then pull a deep breath in there, hold it like you are priming a pump, and then let it spread up and all over your heart (like you are washing it in warm water).

but try what works best for you. as long as you are feeling both groin and heart, you'll get a good effect.

Semi offtopic, but...

I have problems doing this standing up. Can't really breathe deep into my stomach. Can this be caused by weak abs, weak muscles in the lower back, and core-muscles?

Maybe you're breathing kinda wrong, here's an exercise that'd hopefully fix that problem


Lie down, place a book on your stomach and try to move the book vertically up and down (while the book is still placed on your stomach) by breathing in.

The point of this exercise is to let your shoulders rest and to breath with your stomach (If you're breathing in the wrong way then your shoulders will go along with the rythm of your breathing, wich is NOT what you want to do)




If you're a smoker then quit smoking.

So a friend of mine has turned me to this thread to get me to start meditating so that I would be able to create a positive sexual aura for myself. This was about 3 weeks ago and since then I have begun to meditate using this method. I am not completely sure I am doing it right, but I will explain my methods to see if it could help to clear some things up for anyone.

When I first started to meditate, I took the advice literally and focused best I could on my physical penis and physical heart. This however didn't work for shit. So one day a little later, it dawned on me that I could maybe take the definitions a little more loosely and get the right effect. I began to meditate not thinking of my physical organs but of memories and feelings that stimulated them. So instead of thinking of my penis, I began to think sexual thoughts that would allow me to feel sexual and would inevitably give me an erection and instead of thinking of my physical heart, I thought of loving memories and tried to recreate loving feelings I had felt in the past. NOTE: Your loving memories don't all have to be related to someone that you were sexually attracted to. Just any kind of memories that give you that loving feeling.

After I began to meditate like this, things seemed to turn around. I began to notice other people noticing me and I began to embrace it. I guess one thing you all might want to know is that I'm gay. It's part of the reason my friend wanted me to try this out. Would I begin to attract gay men? Does it work for gay people? Well, indeed it does. Since I've begun to meditate, it has made attraction very apparent from both gay men and women.

Since I have begun meditating, I have had some positive interactions with not only guys, but with girls too, which I'm not really interested in, but I figured it was positive reinforcement for this program. I have a girl right now who I have seen twice in a class that meets once a week. The first day she, and the two other girls at my table, began to come onto me (crazy ioi's and eye flirting) and she asked to be my partner for the class before we had even spoken to one another. This past week she escalated to kino herself and began to make playful jokes about us doing things on valentines day and what not. She called me last night and left me a flirty message when I didn't answer the phone. Clearly she wants me... which leads me to believe I need to tell her I'm gay... I kind of let things go along for the purpose of this experiment, but I don't want her to get hurt so it's time to nip it in the bud.

Anyway, I wanted for you guys to see that it really can work if you keep it up every night. I can also do it in public now, if I focus. I mean, I still have to close my eyes to concentrate, but it only takes like 10 seconds to do.

Anyway, this is my experience with this method of meditation. And don't discredit my success with the fact that I'm gay. Back when I pretended to be straight I wasn't this good with the ladies, so something has just happened recently.

Sean, let me know if my way sounds right or if you think I should change things up a bit. Good luck to all the rest of you.

hm..
I used to do some meditation, sometimes
but the one I did was more of relaxation technique than tantra one
and it sure was kinda magic, normally after some time I would start to feel this amazing, tangible energy running through all my body and an absolute good feel with it

sometimes also my eyes would kind of look up to where the 'third-eye' would be located and I would feel pressure there, really like it was the gate of that energy or something like that, sometimes when this happened I couldnt even control my breath anymore

and after I stopped it I'd feel reeeally relaxed and at peace, would sleep really fine and feel kind of enlightened for sometime

this meditation things are more real than we can imagine

now that I read this post I think Im gonna get back to relaxation meditation and try this tantra one too ;D

doesnt it feel good to be happy and activelly make your life better everyday? I love it!
