I disagree.

I don't think you should contact a girl for a few days, but 3 doesn't have to be a set number. I'd say wait between 2 and 5 days.

The reasoning behind this, is to allow for the girl to fantasize about the mysterious guy she only met for a minute or two the other day. If you contact her quickly, she might lose interest because you seem needy or desperate. I think it's a very stupid idea to contact a girl 2 or 3 hours after meeting her, unless it's an innocent little joke about the meeting, just to reinitiate the conversation to get her to think and idealize you some more.

In my opinion, the longer you wait, within reason (don't call her a month later), the better chance you'll have with her, at least a better chance for a first date. Every woman wants to meet her dream man, and by not ruining it the next day, she'll think about you more and more over the week, and when you do eventually call/text her, she won't think of you as the person she met on the street last Thursday, but as the prince charming she has imagined in her head for the past week.

Envy.

In my honest opinion:

There is no set number of days that you should wait in order to get the right response. What actually IS important, is the way you and her interact with each other, from there you calibrate further. I for one have not seen big differences in when I text her the day after or after 3 days.

For example: I closed a girl (6 years older than me) last friday and we had a very good time, about 2 hours of attraction/comfort/connection building because of genuine interest in each other. After that some seduction which involved dancing and kissing. At the end of the night, I got her number and I missed the hint for a full-monty (my bad!). She did agree to tag along to my party in two weeks though.

Ofcourse, I could've waited 3 days (maybe more even!) before texting her. But I texted her the night after this one, and we're still chatting. No problem!

IDK... I think it depends on the girl and situation.

I usually text them immediately, when they're in front of me. That's just cuz I tell them to text me really quick. I'll text them back, saying something like, "just wanted you to have my number. But I consider over 9 texts a day stalking. ". Then I'll ask for her phone and hand her mine...... and say, "okay for a contact I'll put, Awesome snowboarder dude (or something pertaining to our previous convo.. ie "Handsome 80's Music guy") and snap a pic of myself... Than ask her what she put herself for as a contact in my phone.....

I can't remember where I learned that routine, but I like it. I think it might have been in the Ultimate Guide to Phone and Text Game.
