Pretending to forget someones name is not a good thing in my opinion. I could understand if you forget that night. I do that too. In fact I usually dont pay attention to intros when I meet guys at clubs until they catch my interest. Then I will ask again for their name. However, if you get a girls number, have a long chat, or hung out then you should KNOW her name (or at least pretend to)

I get what yall are trying to do...get her to qualify herself, show that you are a popular guy, get her to try harder etc. I just dont think this is a good tactic. If I were her I would say "fuck it" and move on.

smile, and say "you know what? i totally forgot your name. i'm terrible, i know. but... i bet you a drink you don't remember MY name either!"

if she knows, get her a drink. if she doesn't, you both have something to bond over. no matter what, it's no big deal. very few people remember names. in fact, it's kinda weird when they do... like they are trying too hard to impress.

Forgetting names is usually a bad thing. As much as I have noticed, at least for me, I lose points for forgetting names, and girls are usually impressed and glad when I remember theirs. You can of course tease and call her different names on purpose.

Great trick for remembering names:

When someone tells you their name, picture that person impersonating a friend or someone you know by that same name. For example if you meet a George, make a mental image of him impersonating George Bush in your head. I know it sounds weird, but our brain remembers images a lot better than words, so making a clear mnemonic link to a word by creating an image makes remembering names easy.

Calling it out is almost always the best option, if you just did or said something that you think a girl is about to object to, you can give yourself a huge DHV by beating her to the objection by just calling it out. By recognizing what many men don't you set yourself apart from all the rest.

I used to suck at remembering names, but its not that hard if you pay attention for half a second. Heres my little rule I think works well.

If I get a couple IOIs I will "remember" her name.
If I DONT get an IOI, then I will "forget" her name.

If she is interested, there is no point in forgetting her name and you will get points for remembering it, you stand out. If she thinks she is the shit, knocking her down a peg by forgetting her name is legit. Same with Alphas. If I get the impression the dude is chill and genuine, I remain on his good side if I'm genuine back. If hes being a tool, wrong name all day.

I understand some people are just like "Oh, whatever, names, whats ur name again?" But if the person you talk to is cool, be cool back and remember their name, it shows your not another meathead. (no offense to the meatheads, ya meatheads!) ;P
