you're going to have to choose between the girl and your friend. if he is a good friend, ditch the girl, period. if he is more of an acquaintance and you really want to hook up with her THAT badly, go for it man.

i dont think you realise how many of the girls you think are hot are 7s, anything higher is pretty rare and Id be surprised if you claimed every chick you have ever been with has been better than a 7.
