I just picked up "frogs into princes" by the people that first came up with the idea that jeffries' work is based on. I just started, has anyone read this? should I look at jeffries's stuff at somepoint?
Got it recently and I was a bit disapointed

Propably a lot better to check out what Ross Jeffries and other NLP experts (that use it to seduce women) have written

nice post man... those are definitely good things to keep in mind. my problem is even though i know these things to be true logically, i can't internalize them and act accordingly. i've tried using nlp affirmations, the ones in ross jeffries "how to get women into bed without trying" but they didn't do anything for me. has anyone else had success with affirmations? or have other strategies proved more fruitful?

hi you say you can't is that perhaps your problem
this is my strategy

if you think you can you can
have you tried thinking in the same way - you would imagine your favourite meal and what you like about it

aha you pictured it
mmmm mines roast dinner yorky pud

see it already done - subconscious will manage the how
rich aroma mouth wattering colourful happy exciting fireworks -the brighter the coloours the more pwerful the belief will be use all our senses to strengthen
Iimagination is key

also embrace the emotions of the pleasure
feels smell touch see hear

really embrace the success

when we have a negative belief the stronger it is the more repetitions
e.g you have a programme
for simplicuty
red circle =bad
recolour the circle blue =good
the stronger the red the more blue required

The subconscious does not recognise has happened - is happening - will happen
if you replay the event as if success it will strengthen the belief you can and you are successful too
imagination is power

I think

"Frogs into Princes" by John Grinder, the architect of NLP. It's been out of print since 1978, so you'll have to order it on Amazon or something. It's a great indoctrination to the material.

Hey Element, that's a great list. I've been thinking of reading up on NLP for a while, but been put off by the mixed reports about its practitioners - I think you've just sold me using it at least to build up my inner game.

Would anyone familiar with the literature care to put together a shortlist of the good NLP material, ranked for understanding yourself, rather than manipulating others? I guess my ideal book to read up on this stuff would be succinct, complete, and with exercises.

Regards

It's weird that reading a simple sentence can make you dig into your head and come up with revelations of your own. Overcoming your mindset, even for a few hours, can make all the difference, which is why I skim these boards before going out! :)

Everyone of us is a prisoner at one time or another in our lives, prisoners to ourselves or to the expectations of those around us. It is a burden that all people endure, that all people despise, and that few people ever learn to escape.

The only post in this thread that needs to be read is the first one. It is stuff that everyone on the planet should be trying to get into their heads and is precisely why I tell people to read Introducing NLP.
Quote:
Underlying every behavior is a positive intention.
Is an especially important one. People often have so much trouble understanding other people, because they honestly believe that other people are out to hurt and destroy them, for no other reason than to make their lives miserable. Sure, sometimes people are assholes, but even when they intentionally hurt you, they've got some positive intention behind it - maybe not for you, but at least for themselves - they aren't doing it just because they want to hurt you and make you unhappy. Just hurting someone isn't enough, they feel they will gain something more as well; whether it be piece of mind that you are taken care of and out of their way, you are no longer competition, they have impressed others, etc.

The girl that hurts your feelings by rejecting you is really trying to keep her status in front of her friends, not hurt you by leading you on, or interested in someone else and hoping they will come around.
