Pretty sure it is The Doctor that gets girls to quit smoking to be with him. You're only egotistical because you think it is egotistical and it's a big thing to you. He's not egotistical at all, because he doesn't want a smoker and so that's something he requires for them to be with him, but he isn't making a big deal out of it, he just doesn't want to be with a smoker, so they quit to be with him.

hate to burst your immortality bubble, but i heard a rumour that you non-smokers die as well....its just a rumour though, i doubt its true.
