Is this supposed to be a trick question?
If you look at the start of it, she's opens to say something to the effect that she's not real familiar with him but that he's a really big deal. That's most likely False from the beginning. I bet she had some sort of fascination with him already and if not, it was built up prior to the show going live. After all, he's an author and a famous comedian right? He has a distinct look which never hurts and that's before he ever opens his mouth.
it appears to me she's already infatuated with him before the show goes live. Also remember the woman is probably in her 40's or 50's (past her prime) and my guess is she doesn't have a very good body under the dress. Women like that can get flustered with pretty boys with personality fairly easy. The other guy sitting there could have ran his own type of game on a similar caliber female and got just as positive a reaction. As a matter of fact, I would probably rather have the news anchor dude as a wing in a major u.s. city rather than Brand.
It may be true that she already had an infatuation. We'll never know about that one way or the other. What you say about being impressed by his celebrity would definitely be true for any normal 40 something chick like Mika. However, Mika no doubt interviews lots of celebrity guys on her show and I doubt that most of them get so much of a response. And Brand isn't even an A list celebrity. He's only a B lister.
why does she make it a point to say she's not familiar with him but heard he was famous? Her body language appears excited from the beginning to me. If she's that good of a journalist there's no need to say she's never heard of him, just do the interview like normal
