So I am at a family reunion, and i was racing freestyle (swimming at a neighborhood pool) with my ex-olympian dad. We were relaxing when i noticed a girl behind me in a lounge chair reading a GRE book. "Yo! you're taking the GRE? I have some awesome advice for you." She smiled, put the book down, I was in. I transitioned about her plans for graduate school. Her views mirrored mine: go to graduate school after a semester off college. We are both graduates, I knew the rest was cake. We talked about the interesting points of college that you can really get to know someone with: study abroad, the people in the college town, good books and road trips. I noticed she kept looking up right: eye-accessing cue. BAM. She called me her cousin. we seemed to have a lot in common.

She talked about how much her feelings influenced her, and I feel likewise, but challenged her nonchalantly. "You don't seem spontaneous at all. You seem too cool for that stuff." If you neg someone, I have found, you should see it that way as a benefit (If you say, you have a lot of bruises, I guess you are adventurous). She told me a couple spontaneous stories, and for each one, I told her one of mine. It was adult swim, so the kids she babysat came out and she gave me her number invited me to a party tomorrow, "Show me the UNC campus afterward." "My bf won't like that." "I thought you were spontaneous ." "Okay cousin ." I left after I shared my secret handshake. Keeps the ending on a high note.
