On the last stretch I got the replacement bus service. Scanned the bus as I got on and found a good girl to game. Sat down next to her.
[As an aside, basic tip - Never be first in the bus so that you can take your pick of which girl to reasonably sit next to as all double seats are half full. If you sit next to a girl when there are lots of double seats empty, this will instantly label you as a weirdo.]
Opened with something like: "is this the replacement bus to X because I certainly don't want to end up in Y. *chuckle*". Chatted, did everything right. As we parted, I told her that she seemed fun, so I'd let her have my number. She missed called me. We hugged goodbye (with her hands lingering on the let go). Text book. I pulled out my phone to send her a cheeky text as per pickup 101.
Her number was not in my missed call list.
I watched her type it in. I didn't watch her press call though.
She thought I was going to save the number, I thought she was missed calling me.
Arse.
Lesson learnt; the gurus got one wrong, don't assume a girl knows how to use a mobile. If you hand them your phone, make sure that they actually call.
