| This is my first post at MPUA, and my first night out gaming since I tackled the Newbie Mission. In short, I'm brand-new at this whole PUA thing.
A little background: I'd originally meant to try one of Style's missions today (asking 3 HBs for tips on a clothing store) but it was pouring rain all day today, and hardly anyone was on the street.
"Well, fuck that," I said. "It's Friday night. I'm going to have a drink, then hit a bar and open some sets, just for fun."
So I got ready by watching some comedy videos and blasting happy music, and I kept mentally rehearsing Steve P's mantra: "This is your reality - everyone else is just a guest in it."
By the time I got to the bar, I was in a good frame of mind to try some runs, so I opened a few (mostly male) sets and played some pool while I waited for the place to fill up. As I was shooting pool, I noticed a 5-set clustered around a HB7, who was tossing IOIs my way. Some AFC was trying to get her attention with lots of lame questions about her job, so I let him exhaust his repertoire and retreat to the comfort of his drink.
Once he backed off, I opened the HB7's set, using a variation on (I think it's) Style's opener: "You know, you guys are the life of the party." After some fluff, I used the "How do you all know each other?" line, and after that, I was pretty much locked into the set. I kept my attention on fluffing with the HB's friends, and before long we all ended up on the dance floor (this is a bar that turns into a dance club after 10pm).
Since it was still fairly early, there wasn't much of a crowd on the floor yet, but out of nowhere, a HB6 (or so; I wasn't paying much attention) grabbed me and asked me to dance. My DHV Alert lit up, so I ditched my set for a few minutes to hang with the 6. I don't really remember what I said, but it must've worked, because I number-closed with her about 5 minutes later.
When I got back to the HB7's set, the same AFC was trying lamely to dance with her or something, so I danced with her friends until she brushed him off (it didn't take long). A few songs later, the HB7's friends decided to take off, and left me alone with her (thanks to my previously disarming the set, I presume). We hit the dance floor, and she immediately started laying some serious kino on me. Maybe I should've resisted more; I dunno - but at one point she tilted her head back over my shoulder, I started kissing her neck, and after that it was basically the two of us making out while we danced. At some point I number-closed her as well.
When the place closed down, I walked her to her car, and she drove me over to mine. She said something along the lines of "Thanks for hanging out with me," and then just jumped me, very excitedly. After we fooled around for a few minutes, she said she never does this, etc., etc. and I used a Ross Jeffries line that seemed appropriate: "But you wanted to." She agreed, and we played around some more. I didn't push for a close beyond that. After she had me promise to call her, we disentangled and kissed goodnight.
Post-Analysis:
- Responding to early IOIs with a DHV via another set is an extremely effective tactic.
- If I'd offered more token resistance at the initial kino stage, it might have lessened her inhibitions further.
- If my endgame was a bit tighter, I might've been able to turn the kiss-close into something more.
So now I've got to call her and plan something. Any tips on phone gaming would be hugely appreciated.
Other than that, I just want to take this opportunity to pump my fists and shout VICTORY! Ohhhh, it tastes so sweet. Or maybe that's her perfume.
