Sorry it's long... Trying to provide detail so I can get better advice...

I go out to this pretty popular bar on Friday night... It's filled with top notch HB's but there are a lot of dudes that go too. Anyway, I pull in solo and I see one girl that I kinda know, we've partied together but she isn't very attractive so I've never bothered with her. She wants me to join her and her friends for the night to party, mentions that one of her friends is newly single and could do with some "company". I play it off as I'm not here to babysit girls etc etc... I notice most of the girls are actually pretty fit. The kind I like. The newly single one is actually a fucking hottie. Blonde, blue eyes, petite, awesome rack... Anyway, I digress. So I figure fuck it I've practically been given an awesome night. I've walked in instantly been made out to a bunch of hot girls that I'm the shit to party with. Brilliant right?

So I sit down with them, making jokes having a laugh. I'm throwing negs at the ones I don't know, saying something like, "So, where do you come from?" Make a joke of their answers. It's going well... Then I neg the warpig of the group. She gets loud and obnoxious at the one end of the table, so I stand up and shout at her not to carry on like that in public. I have a massive grin on my face when I do it, and up until then she's been a good sport. Suddenly she turns in to a massive bitch. She makes it awkward for the whole table by carrying on about how she didn't come out on a Friday night to be insulted. I can see the moods turning all because fatty moon face isn't feeling me any more. I try recover the situation by saying I was only joking, she shouldn't be so sensitive, chill out. That was pretty much the end of it right there. I went to the bar for a drink, when I came back most of the little group had wandered off. I bumped in to them again, but it was still weird. Clearly the warpig was leader of the group.

So my question is, how do you deal with that? I thought I was gonna be able to recover from it, but clearly I didn't. Is there something I should have done, but didn't? Do I handle it the wrong way? Someone tell me!
