So after mobbing out with Pistol and Gene(now dubbed LG), i was expecting a relaxed evening on mill avenue (aka college bar avenue). while walking, Pistol instructs LG and i to tuck in behind him and act like we're 21. after successfully recognizing the bouncer at Fat Tuesdays, (pistol is 23 we are 19) tucked in behind him and got it like nothing. now the fun part. Pistol coached from the sidelines as we went from group to group to see what we could do. after a few minutes of learning the layout of FTs, we split up and went solo. My frist group was with 4 girls and 2 dudes. first i introduced myself to the dudes, then after they introduced me, i danced with a couple of the grenades to increase my 'social value' to my target. i got all of them laughing, offered to take a picture, and asked to take some pictures with them. it was all working out pretty well, until tried to figure out how to isolate. after pitching in the neg, "so is this your first time out?"
"no why?"
"oh i just figured it was because of how shy you're being."
she smiled and looked down, so i said "maybe i'll teach you a thing or two after we get drinks" and it totally threw me off when she declined. but i already had my eyes on the next 3 set. i told her it was nice to meet her and that i had to catch up with my friends. i approached the next 3 set. 1 hb7, 1 hb5, and 1 hb1. it was HB1s birthday so i ignored hb7 and pretended like i was more interested in hb 1 and 5. i asked them all to come dance and hb7 declined, so i said, "oh lame, i get it she's just nervous in front of the new guy, okay i'll see you later"
i said happy birthday and walked away, nobody followed or stopped me like i sort of expected.
i walked up to the next set, HB9 HB10, and a dude. i was feeling good at this point, so i walked up and introduced myself the the dude talked for a minute, and the HB10 started talking to me, totally into me. i hadnt even played any game hardly, so i tried to talk to the HB9 so as to make the 10 think i wasnt already interested. right when i talked to the 9, the ten left the table to dance with some other AMOG looking guy. i had little interest in the HB9 because she was a little too drunk for me. i lost out on that one and i have a strange feeling i should have tried to isolate the HB10 when she was talking to me, saying things like, "i like your gauges, i like your shirt, and i like your hair"

The final worthwile attempt was pretty straight forward. LG winged me and we went in. pistol had pointed out a set of HB7s and so we went in. i believe LG opened and i was introduced to the one on the left, she told me her name was "single." i laughed and we talked for a bit. i asked her if she went to ASU and she said no, and asked if i did. i said yes and when she asked what my major was, i said,
"i'm actually studying to be a garbage man"
i got a laugh and we continued the convo. i could have pulled an isolation, but i didn't know how to do it. she said something weird and so i looked away with an uninterested face and said i couldnt talk to her anymore. i got up and walked away. she didnt stop me, and i wanted to continue with her because we had to leave soon, so i sat down and said,
"i know, its okay."
she said, "whats okay?"
me: "you called me back didnt you? and you said sorry?"
she said, "no i think you're hearing things"
me: "ohhhh there it goes again. i'm actually psychic."
she laughed and we had idle convo again while i tried to figure out how to isolate.
then her friend got there and they had to leave.

after this, pistol picked up an HB8 and could have probably K-closed it if we didnt have to leave so i could get to work in the morning. sorry braah.

any pointers on isolation methods? or anything that i did wrong?
explanations on why the first 2 declined my isolation methods?
