| Last night, I was at the bar with my friend and these two girls at the other end of the bar saw us and came over immediately and sat on the other side of me. When they sat, they faced each other, so that the girl next to me, a HB9 had her back to me. I have two job opportunities, at Applebee's and Ruby Tuesday, and I genuinely wanted people's opinion. I used Gambler's method of killing their energy by putting my drink down in front of them. The HB9 turned and they both turned to me. I said, "Which would you rather go to."
The HB9 kino'd instantly and they looked at each other, so I said, wait, you guys have known each other awhile. I can tell.
HB7: Yeah, we have, guess how long? (she said that while HB9 was talking)
HB9: We actually just met tonight
Me: You are full of shit, I can tell me and you won't get along
HB9: HAHAHA! Yeah, we've known each other since high school
Me: Ok my friends always use this game called the Best Friends test. Lets do this
Pause, Kino from HB9 again
Did the test and it went perfectly, I rolled off, "I'm ignoring my friend."
HB7: Wait, what do you mean, "pass". hold on.
I talked to my friend a few seconds, and then turned back, they were still turned to me.
Me: You guys are persistent! Ok, what's your name (HB7), wait, you want me to guess, I'll say Georgia.
HB7: No, keep guessing! (HB9 interrupts)
Me: Slow down guys! Let me tell you, my name is Sarah (playfully)
HB9: Guess my name!
Me: You look like a George (playfully)
HB7: You are awesome and so much fun!
HB9: turned away, got up and walked away (HB7 followed)
I said, whatever, talked to my friend.
HB7 in a few minutes came back, tapped my shoulder
"You really made my friend upset, she's self conscious about her short hair"
I quickly apologized, and tried to think on my feet.
I told her to tell her friend to come back over, "no, she won't"
I took her telling me about this as an IOI but also a shit test. She ended up telling me her name, and I felt broken, even though HB7 was holding my hand.
How should this exchange have gone to get back HB9, or should I have just given up on HB9? _________________ Abro Kadabro,
