Ok, long story short. I went back to this store to exchange something with the intention of chatting up the cashier. Because I was in my work clothes (white shirt/tie), while I was in the shop, 3-4 people asked for my help thinking I was some sort of manager. So, I opened with that. The conversation went back and forth for a while, and it helped that a customer came while I was talking to the girl to ask for help, she was laughing and joking about it. So she asks for my info, prints out a receipt. I take the receipt, turn it around and say to her "why don't you put down your number, so I can take you for a cup of coffee sometime?"

She said "No". No boyfriend, relationship, blah blah talk. The thing is, there were 3-4 people around us and I tried to not be too loud, which might have sounded as I was scared or something.

I'm thinking she might have been embarrased with everyone looking and listening and didn't want to appear easy or anything. As I was leaving, she looked at the cashier next to her and giggled.

I intend to try again this week, now that they're less busy and when she's alone at the counter...

Dude, if its a girl at the cashier who has other people in line, it would be unprofessional of her to give you her number. Especially in front of other customers. Someone might say something to the manager, etc. and get her fired if the store has a policy against that.

If it was at a mall or something, it would have been better for you to ask her when her lunch-break is and if you two can grab some lunch together.

Best,

Hopefully, that is what happened. I'm returning there this week. We'll see about her reaction this time. I considered it a now or never moment, since I don't go there a lot (its an electronics shop)... In the worst case scenario, she'll show disinterest again, which will be my cue that I should move on.

Thanks.

Ok, more feedback. She actually accepted a Facebook invitation because she thought I was strange and bit crazy. After talking back and forth (joking and serious at times, she was very responsive, joking back etc) on the chat thingie, she finally told me she doesn't really care if I pay her a visit on Saturday or not. That I don't know her and she doesn't know me, and that she basically doesn't care whether I go or not... She never said she didn't like me, which is basically "fuck off" and I would have left her alone...

What is that? Playing hard to get? I'm very puzzled by this girl's reaction...

Maybe this should be moved to online game or something...
