Okay so I was walking around campus and I sat down on the steps of the student center, which doubles as a bus stop, and sarged this girl.

opener:
Me: 'Hey can I get your opinion on something?'
HBBrunette7: 'Sure'
Me: 'So my friend has been dating this girl all summer and they decided to move in together this semester. He keeps this box in his dresser with a bunch of old letters and photos, some of them are from his exes, but its mostly just a memory box. Well his gf found the box and she flipped out told him he had to get rid of the stuff from his exes. Me and my buddies think its a little unfair but I wanted to get a female perspective' (Jealous GF)
HBBr7: 'does he keep in contact? etc. etc.
Me: 'extra info'
HBBr7: 'more opinion'
Me: 'negs about opinion'
(this lasts for about 5min)

Introductions
Me: Im Aces btw
HBBr7: Im _____
*shake hands*
HBBr7: standard small talk questions
Me: standard small talk answers
(i didnt let this last long bc i knew it was a total AFC route)

Me: 'Wanna see a card trick?'
HBBr7: 'Okay'
*perform 3 card tricks*
(i now 'accidentally' drop the cards randomly throughout my tricks because it somehow makes it extra impressive when i still finish)
HBBr7: 'Whaaaat that was crazy'
(this lasts about 10min)

EV
Me: 'so who do you think lies more, guys or girls?'
HBBr7: 'cynical remarks' (the cynicism is a turn-on for me)
Me: neg about cynicism
HBBr7: qualifies herself
(this goes on for another 10min or so)
At this point in time her bus arrives
HBBr7: thats my bus, maybe next time I see you you'll have more tricks
Me: okay see you later
(thats where i FU the first time. I easily could have # closed, i had 4-6 ioi's throughout the convo, plus the 'next time i see you' line)

So today I see her at the same place around the same time, its been 6 days. We make eye contact, her eyes light up and she smiles, waves, and says "hi!"
So I walk over and we chat for 5min or so and then her bus comes.

She says 'next time i see you i expect some lighter tricks' (i mentioned starting to learn them) I responded saying 'hold on we cant just keep meeting up at bus stops, let me get your #' and she says 'i dont give out my #, but im sure ill see you again.'

did i do something wrong? is she just playing cat and mouse or hard to get?

Well everything sounded pretty solid, until when you didn't ask for her number the first time, and you didn't make her qualify herself enough, she now thinks shes the prize and that your working to get her. When she told "next time, you better have more tricks" you should of said "Well i'm not a dancing monkey, give me your # and if your lucky enough i might". You still got a chance with this girl you just gotta be more C&F its obvious she likes you good luck with this dude.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I've been working on my C&F in other sarges so I'll probably just make sure to 'happen' to run into her at the bus stop either tomorrow or friday. It's hard to be witty all the time, especially when unexpected things happen. I totally thought I wouldn't have any trouble at all getting her #.

I kinda want to borrow my friend's lighter and/or work on a few new card tricks but, meh. I think that gets old fast, its just entertaining for the start. Plus I don't want to be known as "that one kid that does card tricks" obviously I would much rather be known for other things
