When they chose I put a mark on the corresponding wrist with a pen. I wasn't doing it for numbers or anything; Just to put myself out of my comfort zone.
When I got there, I put the cologne on my wrists. I was very nervous and didn't want to do it but I did.
I started with 2 young and cute girls, but they were working in a clothes store, so I guess they had to be nice. It went pretty well though.
But it was a really small mall, and I started seeing girls who I had asked before and that started to put me off. People were usually cool about smelling, but when I started putting pen marks on my arms they looked at me a little strange.
I approached 12 sets before I had to leave. Every set apart from 2 had more than 1 girl in it, so I get I got at least 30 opinions, but only 12 separate sets.
The point of the exercise was to make me feel more comfortable approaching strangers. I'm not sure it worked though. I was as nervous on the last one as I was on the first one.
I don't even have a problem approaching strangers so much - I mean of course I would be fine asking for directions, or advice on which bars to go to.. I just find it hard to approach with a cologne or opinion opener.. I just feel like they can see right through it. Obviously this is not the case as it works for many people.
I was proud that I did it at all - I want to challenge myself more soon. If anyone has any ideas I am all ears.
Thanks guys,
Castor.
