Hey fellas. 1st time poster here. I've been an AFC all my life, and am now inspired to change that. I've just started The Game, but I figured I may as well and get started trying to implement some stuff asap!

Friday night we went out to bars and I totally froze up and couldn't do sh*t. While reading the book it is no problem to imagine myself shedding my feelings and ego and hitting on a girl, but I found it a whole different task all together to implement it.

I was furious at myself, so last night I knew I had to make up for it - if only in a small way. We had a Mardi Gras themed party at our house, so I tried to peacock it up a little (which is definitely not my usual style). Bright shirt, jester hat, glow stick hung from beads. I didn't really know what I was doing, but at that point I was at the "F it, I don't care" stage, which I'm coming to realize may be quite an important mentality for this game we're playing here.

Anyway, I tried a couple approaches and was getting decent results. I opened one HB 6.5 with the ring opener. This was my first attempt at a canned opener, and she actually ate it up. I didn't really know how to transition to the next step however, and I ended up ejecting shortly thereafter, but hey, at least I got started.

Now comes the part that I'd really like some experienced guys here to dissect:

A few more unmemorable sets later, I was actually feeling pretty confident, and I found myself in completely unfamiliar territory by getting approached myself, and by a HB 8 no less. I was less shocked once I found out that she was approaching me because she knew I had weed to smoke, but I didn't care. I told her that I don't just smoke people out for free, and she mentioned that she gives good back rubs. I agreed to smoke her out in exchange for a back rub, and went inside to get my stash. On the way back out I purposely stopped and talked to a couple people, and made sure she saw I was doing that. She was not the top priority on my list.

When we finally ended up smoking, it was in a large group, not just her and me. I mostly talked to other people in the circle. This was not an intentional move, I just couldn't think of anything to say to her. I don't know if this ended up being good or bad, I think it probably didn't much matter. After smoking, I purposely didn't hang around her, or ask her for the massage right away.

Later in the night, she ran into me again, and I told her that I'd like her to keep up her end of the bargain. She said that's why she had been coming to find me. Huge IOI I'd say right?! I suggest we go inside where it's warmer. We sat on the couch, though not very isolated from the rest of the party. This was maybe my biggest mistake in this process, I'm not sure, because there were definitely people watching what was going on between us. She gave me a back rub for a couple minutes. I told her it was alright, but if she really wanted to see how it's done, to let me give her one. I thought this was a logical next step, but BAM, she said something horrible like 'I don't think so' and got up and left. As she was leaving I teasingly called her out on playing hard to get, which in retrospect was probably stupid, but hey, I'm new at this! I didn't see her the rest of the night. Crash and burnnnnn!

So, that's the story of my first night trying to implement these new techniques. I didn't do great, but I began understanding how the game is played, and I plan to be a super star as I keep learning. So please, tear my performance apart. Let me know what I did right, what I did horribly wrong, and how I could have gotten a better result.

I wouldn't have offered to show her how to give a proper backrub. That would be you trading smoke for backrub, and throwing an extra backrub in for...?

TBH, I doubt she was interested in you for anything but weed.

Thanks for the reply Charlie. In retrospect, smoking her out at all was probably an AFC move, but I'm not here pretending to be anything other than an AFC at this point.

I will say though that I think she wasn't JUST interested in the weed. I didn't cash in my reward immediately because I figured if she came back and found me later, which she did, that it would be for reasons other than our initial deal.

So Charlie (or anyone), assuming the back rub was an IOI and not just for grass, what would you have done as a next move?

Danced with her. With or without music... it doesn't matter.

I'm going to assume that you understand the concept of dancing with music, so I'll just elaborate on dancing without music. Ask her to dance. If she says, "But there's no music..."

Reply with, "You're going to let that stop you?"

Get a song in your head... or not... and dance to it. You might have to go first, but the key is to have fun with it and not give a rat's ass what anyone else thinks.

Personally I wouldn't have given her the weed in exchange for a back rub in the first place.
I would have acted cocky funny and told her that "if she's only talking to me to get weed she has to do better than that" and then start a conversation with some sort of routine.
Say that she just wanted the weed, not giving it to her would have given you the upper hand and she would have to stick around, enough for you to DHV.
I never give girls anything, not even a cigarett. After you've slept with them you can buy them breakfast.
