| I figured I'd share this story as I believe it is a good story of testing your fortitude when the odds may seem against you.
I was at this tattoo art convention and word around was that one of the judges from the show Ink Masters (I won't say whom, just because I don't like spreading any sort negativity) was at the convention. Anyways I'm with my family at a bar that was connected to the convention center and I see 3 women (HB8, 8, and 9) shooting the breeze with the judge from Ink Master.
So here is what's going through my head:
"Wow, those girls are pretty cute! But they're talking to that celebrity...damn. Not to mention my family is right besides me, and I hate trying to flirt when they're around. Ah damn, the 3-second rule is already passed anyway. Wait, no, screw that noise, no excuses. I may fail, but, how many people get to say they had the balls to try to scoop 3 women right from underneath a celebrity? Not many. Plus, I bet the forum will get a load of this story. Haha, yep, screw it, I'm doing this for the story!"
So I walk on over with a smile on my face, just getting ready to laugh at myself. I swing around right in between the judge and the three girls. I say to the girls, "Hey guys! How are you liking the convention! Did you check out that SPAM tattoo the one girl just did?"
Yes we did, she did a great job!
Absolutely! It's so difficult to find somebody that does such a great naturalistic style. Nothing against them, but you see way more flash tattoos nowadays than something that looks real, ya know? *turned to the judge and put my hand on his shoulder* Oh, hey man, you look familiar. Never mind that though, hope you're having a good time.
*Turned back to the girls*
Anyways, what kind of ink are you guys looking to get?
*At this point the judge turns around and starts chatting up his friend sitting at another area at the bar*
So anyways, the girls and I are just talking, and I'm having a good time, and they're having a good time, and it was all fun!
I didn't get a close though, but a big part of the reason is that I am currently looking to do an apprenticeship, and didn't want to have any chance of gaining a bad rep with anybody there. But, nevertheless, I had a great conversation with 3 awesome, down-to-earth girls, met a cool celebrity (btw I don't want to give the guy any sort of bad connotation, so if he seems like that in the story, he's not. He's actually a super nice dude!), and most importantly, didn't get intimidated by another mans status.
Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this story. It's taught me that although status doesn't matter, self worth and having fun does!
