Have you ever met someone who for some reason is attracted to yet the feeling wasn't mutual, mostly because of such poor chemistry? I made the mistake of humoring this girl for a date.

We made plans to meet up at a bar. Before the date, as per protocol, I clean myself up from a hard days work and clear up my house. However, when I finish, I realize I'm running a few minutes late. So I drive to the bar, five minutes late, and she was nowhere to be seen. I figure she'll be around eventually, order a beer, and pull out a small book from my pocket to read while I wait.

She shows up a few minutes later, out of breathe apologizing for being late. I tell her "No biggie, I was late too."

She sits down and orders a water. Weird. We start talking. This girl, a former swimmer for the university, is a motormouth. Yak yak yak. She only spoke about two things: how much she likes exercising and all the terrible little kids she coaches (my words, not hers). Every time I'd try to change the subject to something that we have common ground on she responded dismissively (i.e. "Oh that's cool.") and then began talking about hiking a mountain or holding kids underwater to get them to calm down.

I quickly realized that I hate this girl. But I keep my cool and remain courteous. I finish my beer. She says "I have to go home and pack for a camping trip, what are you going to do?" To which I shrug and say I'll figure something out. Give her a side-hug, call up a homie who lives a few blocks away and make plans to kick it.

I have no questions; there were no sticking points. This girl was as dull as a doorknob. An instant boner-kill.

I mean, boring or not... She's got a hole... And it sounds like she was in good shape.

A lot of getting laid is about finding interest in whatever she's talking about. Does it really matter if you and her have common ground, aside from the commonality of wanting to hook up??

Chicks with motor mouths are great! They do the work for you and talk themselves into your pants.
