GOAL: Open as many sets as possible

So I arrived at the club a little too early, it was about 10:30 and still slow. I picked up a drink at the bar and started to open sets, at first just guys (the ratio was terrible) in order to demonstrate some social proof.

OPENER: "Have you been here on a Tuesday before? When does it start to pick up? What's the ratio like? etc etc"

I opened up this two set of HB 7.5-8's but the music was so loud that the target couldn't hear me. They were standing at the bar and I was on their left, target on far right, obstacle next to me. The obstacle was basically relaying everything I said to the target which was making the conversation slow and boring so I ejected.

Then I opened up a mixed 3 set, 2 guys and 1 HB6. They were standing by the dance floor and it was still really slow so I told one of the guys to get out on the dance floor and show us how it's done. He told me his friend was the real dancer so I made the same challenge to him and the girl he was with. They both declined but I told them you had to stand out and explained peacock theory to them. They thought I was gay (the cock part of peacock?) and it got awkward so I hit the floor by myself.

Here's where I might have made a mistake. As the only person on the floor I started break dancing. I'm terrible at it but I thought it would be funny so I did it anyway. Everyone was staring at me and doing the "Oooh!" and stuff as if I was the token white boy. I certainly was the center of attention. What do you think, was this a mistake to dance poorly?

Anyway, I used this little dance to open a another mix set, 2 HB 9's and a guy. I asked one of the girls why she wasn't dancing and she didn't really answer. I told her, "I understand, you just don't know how to dance" (a neg) and she blasted me on it by saying "I dance a hell of a lot better then you!" I tried to recover but I was caught off guard by such a strong bitch shield (and had had too much to drink) so I ejected. Lesson learned, limit the drinking!

I opened a few more sets with another opener...

OPENER: "Let me get your opinion on something... I just got into medical school and I'm thinking of getting the medical insignia, you know the two snakes on a staff, as a tattoo somewhere. The problem is I have no idea where to get it, what do you think?"

It turned out to be a really good opener, it DHV's without being too obvious (although it is a little obvious) and it's a good excuse for some kino when I touch them on the area they say I should get it. To be funny I usually say something like, "I'm thinking about getting it huge across my back" to which the ladies would usually reply that I should just get it on my forehead. When I opened mixed sets the guys were usually weirded out but the chicks gave me some great responses. However, it seems my sticking point right now is getting the hook.

I did have one beautiful set though. HB 6 and an HB8, HB8 with her boyfriend. I opened with the tattoo line and started chatting with the obstacle, the HB8. Turns out we both work for the same company which I used to number close her (wtf? I number closed the obstacle!) and then after a few minutes I told the set I felt like I was ignoring their friend and I wanted to talk to her for a few. Awesome, I isolated her over to the corner of the club and ran a few routines on her.

I started out asking her what she does (since she already knew what I did) and she told me she was in school to be a PA. We bullshitted some more about work and then I negged her for not going to med school very lightly. Then I asked her about ESP and ran the number guessing (which I fucked up, I forgot to say between 1 and 10!) and then I ran the cube. The cube worked well, some serious chick crack. After a few minutes I returned her to her friends and ejected from the whole bar.

I stopped in at a bar next store and ran into someone I used to know. Chatted with him and his girl for a second and used them as a pivot into a two set sitting next to them. At this point I had, had too much to drink (I was slurring a bit but my game was still really tight) but I used the tattoo opener and chatted with them for a little while anyway. Then I ejected the scene and basically passed out at my house.

WHAT I LEARNED:

1. STOP FUCKING DRINKING! I knew better too, that's the part that pisses me off. I was really going out because I had a shitty day and wanted to party, sarging was just something I was doing while drinking. In the future I need to cut myself off much more quickly or drink something weaker then whiskey on the rocks.

2. OPEN EVERY SET! I'm doing the mystery newbie challenge where you go out four nights for four hours and open at least 3 sets an hour. Even the sausage fest sets can demonstrate social pre-selection and they are really easy to reopen if the guy is buy himself. This way I always looked like I was talking to someone.

QUESTIONS:

How do I handle the fact that the volume of music in the club is so loud? I had to yell for people to hear me and most of the time they couldn't, do you all run different game in loud environments?

My sticking point appears to be getting the hook. Should I just keep stacking routines until I get it or what?

All in all, a good experience!
