Hi Guys, today I was out with my wing. We went to a rather trendy bar. When I came back from toilet, I found my wing standing by a high table where two girls were sitting. My wing is inexperienced, so he didnt try to open up the girls. When I arrived, I instantly jumped into action by saying "Hey since we are sharing the table, I might as well say hi".

The initial contact was good. The HB was very friendly and kino backed a couple of times when we were just doing the small talks. Then I started talking about my office and saying that there are a lot of artists and designer working in in my office. My intention was to DHV by telling her some art and design work my friends were doing. then it went something like this,

HB: So are you an artist?
ME: No, I just hang out with a lot of them. It is a very cool crowd. I was in a bar full of banker last week. It was really boring.
HB: Oh no I work in a bank.
ME: Then you must be boring. haha (Tried to throw in a neg there). We will soon find out if you are boring or not.
HB: (laugh)
ME: Which bank do you work for?
HB: (Cant really remember how she put it, but she doesnt want to tell me the name of the company. This is the first sign of danger which I failed to see)
ME: The reason I asked is that I have an account with Credit Suisse. And I hate them. If you work for them, I will call you everytime I have a problem.
HB: I dont work for them (laugh)
Then I noticed that they are drinking ice tea.
ME: Are you girls drinking ice tea? I dont want to judge people by looking at their jobs, but drinking ice tea on a Friday night is just.......
HB: boring? (laugh)
ME: I am just kidding (laugh and big kino on the shoulder)

Then there were just small talks, which I dont recall to be anything important. I ran the best friend test on them, which didnt really work, because the other girl doesnt speak good English and my wing had to translate, but they all laughed. The whole talk was very smooth and full of fun.

After around 20-30 minutes, I could feel the energy is dying down a little. Then I was trying to run the 5 questions game on her, and I finally felt something was going the wrong direction.

ME: Do you want to play this bar bet?
HB: Yes (appeared to be very interested, after having talking about psychological games)
ME: There is a little stake. The loser has to buy the winner a drink, since we have all ran out of drinks here.
HB: No (refering to the buying drink part with a big smile on her face)
ME: Come on. It is nothing serious. We need a little stake to make it interesting.
HB: OK

I ran the game and she didnt even survive the 4th question. She laughed really hard and I gave her a big kino on the shoulder. But then I said now you owe me a drink, she said I had unfair advantage. I said I tested my friend this afternoon and he managed to get all 5 questions "wrong", which wass true. I then explained how the game works, so that I dont look like a con artist.

When the excitement died down, I invited them to come to another club with us, which they turned down. Then I tried to number close her and said.
ME: You still owe me a drink. What are you gonna do about it?
HB: No I cant
ME: Well how about this? You can give me your phone number and we can sort out this drink some other time.
HB: Sorry No.
ME: That is not very nice. We had a bet. We should honour the deal.
HB: Sorry No.
ME: Well ok. I understand.
(All these was done in a good mood, even though I was pretty pissed off that she was cheeky enough to say no like this)

After we left them, my wing told me at some time during the convo, he overheard the HB whipsering to her friend in Swiss German saying, "I really enjoy this conversation, but I wont take it any further".

So the question is I am wondering what, if anything, I did wrong here. Maybe it is the "boring banker" neg. Maybe I spent too much time entertaining them and forgot to build rapport. I know these banking girls normally worked really hard to break into the industry and working in a less female friendly environment, so I should have totally calibrated to that. Or base on what my wing told me, it is just not my day, she is simply just not sexually interested, but I thought all the routines were supposed to solve exactly this problem.

Any comment and opinion will be much appreciated. And please lets try not to invovle anything like "lets burn the banks".....

Hey man, in my opinion you did very well, there's just one thing... sometimes the target is simply not interested/attracted/available enough to go all the way through... "social engineering" does not mean 100% success rate... it boosts your chances from 10% to 70% which is good enough... if I were to find a flaw in this whole story it would be that you had an inexperienced wing... if he would have gamed the shit out of the obstacle, that would have made your target more receptive to your proposals... you didn't separate the target from the obstacle, which can be a reason why she didn't give you the phone number (maybe target has a BF and the obstacle knows him...)

I think I did not too bad too. I honestly dont think she is the most fun girl in the world, giving her background and drinking ice tea on Friday night. However, I think I could have added a few more disqualifier in there. My energy was probably a little too high and entertaining. Should have DHV a bit more.

You messed up, but It would have been advanced game...You loose the friend, you loose the set! Thus you should have gamed the obstacle just as well as the target: Open, neg, banter, DHV (you did it well) but not the try-hard shoulder kino at this point, but an unexpected serious question because banker girls are serious girls!

You: Could you recommend me a good book to red? The way you carry yourself and dress tells me you have fairly good taste...Just because I asked my sister, and she offered a silly book, and the woman at the bookstore offered an even worse one.

Then you should have gamed your own wing! He can't do anything, so you must bring up a topic where the guy is best at, because the cooler your friends are, the cooler you are.

So: Purple Lunacy! Yeh great book idea you have, and when I don't read, we go to see Karate maches, because my pall here is second degree master and he teaches women self deffense, so....bla bla bla.

The problem was that her friend didnt speak much English. I tried to involve her friend in the convo as much as possible, but it wasnt entirely successful. My wing did his best to translate and kept the friend busy, but later he told me the friend was extremely shy.

I think Webcam38 is for sure right. I should have calibrated according to her background. And I should have spent more time building rapport and generating Chemistry. I would have had her if I managed to do that.

After her rejection, maybe I should plow a bit further by saying, "I like the fact that you are being straight forward with me. (which is in all fairness true. It would be more of a disappointment if she gave me her number and then flake!) You are a different girl. I like you even more now. You are right. Lets forget about the drink and phone number. We should get married straight away" It probably will sound quite supplicating, but it is better than we all stand there feeling awkard for 5 mins.

Or, while doing this, why did you not live them for a while, talking to other people, and go back,playing the popular regular guest game, who is safe, dissarming and fun to be with?
