| I finally did my first cold approach yesterday.
Chief's newsletter suggested keeping a journal, and I think I might just do that. Here is my first entry, first cold approach, and first field report. It is not at all amazing, great, or new. It is the beginning for me, and I have so much farther to go in order to call myself a PUA.
I had an objective for this weekend. The first weekend after it ended.
Caesar was waiting for me in Nuremberg. There was something wrong with his phone, he didn't get my call, nor text. Olmos was wanting to go with me. Maybe Caesar would stay at Finnegans where we had planned to meet. I finally got through to him on the train. The plans were back on.
The three of us had a few drinks at the Pub before we moved on to the Loom. That's when I spotted her, sitting alone. My target. Maybe I should have approached that second. I wasn't sure, but I told myself that if she was still sitting alone in two minutes, after we got our table, I was going to talk to her. I completely broke the three second rule, but that was merely a guideline. I moved in.
If I ever wanted to be a PUA I had to take chances. The worst she could do was decline, the worst I could do was learn something.
I told her that I noticed she was sitting alone and I didn't like to see people as pretty as herself sitting alone. That might have been too much, but she liked it, she smiled. She came upstairs with me to smoke our hooka and drink with us. I remembered one rule, I wasn't going to pay for her drinks.
The conversation was fine, I kept her interested and attentive. But I would repeat myself occasionally throughout the night, I hated that. For some reason I couldn't think up better topics. I found out about what she does, her age, and her name. I just remember knowing that I wasn't asking these questions in a boring way. I added them into the conversation, I felt like that would be the best way to do it if I was going to ask her these boring questions.
She said she was waiting on some friends, but they wouldn't be there for over an hour. The Loom had only given us an hour to stay upstairs with the hooka. So, she was going to show us a bar we hadn't been to nearby.
The bar apparently had a 21 only rule, odd for Germany. All four of us were under that age, but she knew people that worked there. Olmos decided he wanted to go to a strip club. I can never understand that mindset. Even if you aren't the one making the moves, at least stay and learn something. I knew I was definitely learning knew things and it was my target. It didn't matter though, we were having fun.
Her friends had never shown up, they were in a movie. After being at Die Rote Bar for a little while, I told her that we had a train to catch, the last one going back that night, of course she understood, and I had just given myself a time frame. "I've had a lot of fun with you tonight, Alina." "I have too." I believe she was the one that suggested we hang out again, I can't remember, I was slightly buzzed. "If I leave now we may never see each other again. What can we do in order to do this again?" "I don't know." "Well what can we do so that we could see each other another time?" I wasn't going to ask that again. My relief came when she suggested giving me her number. We walked outside where we said goodbye and parted. I didn't care about a kiss close this time, I had just gotten my first number close from a cold approach. I felt successful, but I know I'm still not anywhere near PUA status yet.
My objective was right on track. It was not a successful pickup, it was not a number close. My only objective was to make German friends, as I had only been hanging out with Americans for the last five months of my time here. There was only one reason I was still hanging around them and that reason had gone away now. I wanted German friends and now my objective is about to be achieved.
I don't care if I have sex with Alina or not, I just want to be able to go out with Germans on the weekends instead of Americans from now on. And this is the perfect way to start in that direction.
