This happened a while ago now but I would still love some feedback! Thanks in advance

So I'd been having immense fun with this blonde Lithunian beauty I'd met at work. Busting on her ass all the time, the whole cocky funny thing, neg hits, kino, etc etc. It worked like a charm. Not only that, it made my confidence sky high and was just a blast too. I ordered her around, told her what to do, I even got her to buy me lunch in a flash restaurant. At work we were passing notes back and forth, she was constantly sticking her tongue out at me, play hitting me. Classic IOIs all. So finally I took her to the beach (I lived in Barcelona back then). Really romantic setting, stunning location. We were swopping stories, getting to know each other, she went topless looking just fucking gorgeous, I was laying on her tummy, stroking her legs, it was all good. So, remembering D'Angelo's advice I moved around so that we were facing, inches apart and started playing with her hair at the back and stroking her neck. No resistance. She was telling me about marking significant moments in your life by making symbolic changes (in this case, she wanted a new teddy bear, which we'd just seen in a shop window). Perfect topic. Excellent. She moved on to how she had done that by dying her hair. OK, so she was just rambling at this point, she wasn't going to shut up so I just grabbed her and kissed her. It was the first kiss (this was late on in the day, been taking my time, building up to the moment). Bingo, she kissed me back, really passionate. We really went for it. Awesome first kiss. We were rolling in the sand, biting lips, I was grabbing her butt, she had her arms round me, it was hot! Then, blam, she stopped, whipped out her notebook and made me play this dumb game! It was the first time since we'd met that I felt like she was leading instead of me. I was so taken by surprise that I found myself going along with it before I'd really had time to think. We played, we finished. Time to go. Everything was sweet, we went back, holding hands, but it was like suddenly there was a barrier up. I kissed her again later on the Metro, but no real response, just lips touching and she wouldn't look up at me.

Next day: she texted me. Cool. We met down the local beach, a tourist hang out, nothing romantic but still cool. She looked super happy to see me, we had lunch, we were still busting on each other, having fun, she was giving me sparkly eyes, it was all looking good. Some pug ugly she/he/it I dunno what the fuck passed by and I pointed this out with a far from original but very genuinely horrified: "Jesus Christ, what the fuck is that?". She almost peed her pants she laughed so hard. It was a great moment. She wrapped her legs round my leg... then a work colleague appeared next to us saying hi. Well, everyone at work had already seen us together so that was no big deal. Colleague left. We finished up and went to the beach. We oiled up, lied down and I went to kiss her... and boom I got pushed away with a "not now, you're in my sun". Laughing, not nasty but still... I was gutted. I felt like I was back where I'd started. Or worse, cos then she knew what the score was. I felt I should have punished her in some way for not kissing me back, or withdrawn my attention. But I felt really like I'd blown it at that point and was just at a loss on how to proceed. Anyway, from there we just hung out. Continuing the C/F etc, still having fun and me being very relaxed and easy going like it's no big deal. Thinking, "two steps forward, one step back". But really I was just bugged.

So, I ended up feeling like the most frustrated motherfucker on earth and I'm kicking myself to this day for not flinging her damn notebook in the sea that time and just cavemanning her. I mean, that was some kinda shit test, right? It was like a state break she did on me or something.

Then the next day my guess is that I assumed too much and didn't build up to it enough.

In the end nothing came of the relationship, we still had fun at work but she had to go back to Lithuania a few weeks later.

So, ok, can anyone advise on what I did wrong and what I should do another time in this kinda sit?
