I'm floating on air right now, guys. Last night was my first time in the field using PU techniques and it went far better than I could've expected.
I got off to a shaky start, breaking the 3 second rule on a couple of sets and wimping out, but I recovered as the night progressed.
Me and some friends hit a music bar and while the band were soundchecking I opened a 2 set over my shoulder with "Who lies better? Men or women." I couldn't even hear their response, my heart was pounding so loud in my chest. They weren't even that attractive. I rolled out of the set and made sure their attention was on me as I gained social proof from my friends and then headed back in twice as the band started playing. This time I used the ESP opener. The first girl was astounded that I got two out of three right. The second girl was laughing as I got all three wrong, but told me "I really want you to get this right" in a qualifying kind of way. I isolated the second girl, not because I particularly wanted to close her, but purely because she said she didn't believe in magic and I saw that as a challenge. Next time I won't do that.
Anyway, I opened a few more sets with "Who lies better?" But some women reacted terribly to it. For next time I need to memorise some more openers.
Later, the bar got ridiculously busy, so we decided to find a table. There was a girl there sitting looking nervous, obviously waiting for her friend to get back. I used direct openers this time and kept the conversation light and funny until she felt at ease with me. When her friend got back I knew this was my target. I turned my back and started chatting with my friends, then opened over my shoulder. They started nudging me and trying to get me to turn into the set, so I allowed them my company, but negged my target a couple of times.
"you can dress her up, but you can't take her anywhere"
"it's so cute, your nose wiggles when you talk" (this one got a great reaction as she instantly covered her nose, laughing and asked her friend if it was true. I leaned into the friend and gave a knowing smile and she laughed along with it.)
There were others as the conversation progressed and she tried to establish control of the flow, but the negs kept her off balance.
I told some DHV stories from my own life:
"So, I'm a cagefighter. Don't hate." (They started laughing at this, so I laughed along. "I know, it seems ridiculous." My target was laughing so hard, but kept apologising "It's not because of you, I promise, I'm just an idiot." So I made her hold her hands and said "Let me show you an exercise to help you stop laughing." Then I took her hands, looked into her eyes and burst out laughing. Of course, she started laughing again, so I started talking to her friend while she recovered.)
"On my first night at University, I got mugged." (This one is a pretty emotionally charged story and I had them eating out of the palm of my hand as I told it. They were feeling everything right along with me.)
Then I decided to try isolating my target. So I turned to the friend and said "I think your friend likes me, would you be okay with me taking her somewhere more quiet to talk?"
The friend laughed and gave permission, so I stood and held out my arm for the target to grab saying "let's go have a smoke" she said "I don't smoke" I said "neither do I". She was holding tight to my arm as we walked outside, I felt so alpha at this point, just on top of the world and as we reached the door I pulled her hand away and said "that's all you get" and started walking ahead. I sat down at a table and she followed and sat too.
We started talking and we both knew where this was heading. I leaned back in my chair and with my most casual body language said "Would you like to kiss me?" (The Mystery kiss close) She kind of bit her lip and said "I don't know".
Here I made a slight mistake, as I leaned in I stood. Next time I have to remember not to do that. I said, "Let's find out."
She said, "I'm not kissing you while you're standing."
I said, "Fair." And sat back down. Then she leans in and we start kissing. I cannot tell you how great I felt. Here was a beautiful woman kissing me after meeting me an hour or so before.
Then she sits back and says "you're a really good kisser" and "you're weird". I lean back in my chair and turn my body language off her as a punishment for the "weird" comment.
"How so?"
"You keep looking at me."
"Haha, fair. Let's head back to our friends."
We head back inside, holding hands, then as we're at the bar I'm in heavy kino with the target. The friend at this point seems a little uncomfortable. I think whilst me and the target were gone, my friends never initiated conversation with the friend basically leaving her on her own. Next time I need to explain to my friends what I expect in a wing. Haha. It wasn't their fault, it was mine for not making it clear, but it was all such a blur.
Anyways, the girls disappeared so me and my friends decided to head out. Just as we were leaving they appeared again.
The target says "You're so sweet and you're such a good kisser, but I'm going to spend the night with my friend."
I said "Fair. It was a pleasure to meet you."
I think I might've tried the "What steps can we take to continue this", but it was pretty much over at that point. I bowed out, but not before looking back in regret and thinking I should've just asked for her number.
She was a great kisser, guys. And so hot.
Oh well.
For my first night of pick-up, I feel I did pretty well. By the end there was so little pick-up anxiety, I felt so confident and in control it was an amazing feeling. Now I can't wait til next time.
