I went out last night on a works do and thought this would be a good time to try and get over some approach anxiety, the night wasn't a great success but wasn't a complete failure.
my intention was to at least smile and say hi to girls I bumped into or were around me, I smiled at several girls and got a couple of smiles back but didn't follow it up.
I had the perfect opportunity at the bar to talk to 4 girls who were in front of me but I just went blank and froze, I did manage to stand at the side of one of them at the bar as I got served and tried to chat but it was nothing more than small talk and they walked away once their drinks came.
I got chatted up by the worlds worst cougar later at the bar which could have gone somewhere but I do have some standards lol.
there was a 3 set on the dance floor who offered me the last bit of their cocktail pitcher and looked like they were gonna go but I managed start talking to them, 2 of them were friendly while the other one was a but stuck up, I did get the number of one of them before they left so not a complete loss.
I tried opening a 2 set later by commenting on the novelty glasses one was wearing but it went down like a lead balloon and then her mate went really nasty and started having a go, so I felt it better to move on lol.
so not as confident as I was hoping and I kept seeing girls I thought were hot but I couldn't approach and kept doubting myself - I was also pretty tipsy as the night went on (is it best to remain sober) and didn't really have anyone out with me who would have been a good wingman.

Instead, have a goal that's within reasons, and push for that. Saying that, never eject from a set. Talk about the most boring shit on the planet if you have to but don't eject.
Also, your gonna have to learn to be social and get friends if you wanna succeed.
