| So last night, I went out with a group of lads, and we just went bowling, nothing went down there really, I just had a couple of pints. Afterwards, I joined my friends at a bar, and I was in a pretty good mood. I realise now I shouldn't really have had too much more to drink. I had one pint, and I knew I was then tipsy (I'm quite small and I had eaten nothing that night, so it's not a surprise how quickly I got drunk), it loosened me up. I opened sets without trouble, and I could stay there. I even merged two sets. I was pretty on top of my game.
I got chatting to this girl, maybe an 8. She was pretty drunk, but I noticed a lot of IOIs, I'm pretty sure it was just the social proof of being in the room. We both had a drink together (she bought). I knew I should have started to increase kino and isolated her from the group we were sitting in, but I was just having such a good time, being drunk and all. It also seemed like she was finding it hard to concentrate, she would go off on tangents and she needed the toilet a lot. I'm not usually one to over-analyse things, but it seemed odd she needed the toilet so much. Maybe she was trying to get away? That's probably my inner AFC talking though.
Anyway, so that's why it's bad, at least for me. I struggled to efficiently execute game, and if the person you're gaming is drunk, it might seem easier to game her, but it's not, since her mind is buzzing full of other useless crap and it's hard to keep her attention. (I'm not used to losing the attention, it's usually there all night.) I guess next time I'm out in field, I'll probably only have a couple of pints, to the point that I feel loose enough to go and open sets without any issues, and just be generally more sociable and happy.
I think the best way to deal with alcohol in field is the old fashioned way though, little to none. I dunno about everyone though, personally, I think a couple won't hurt, especially if it improves your confidence and your inner game a bit, I know it did for me. Go out and experiment, just try things out.
That's all for now,
