Hello mates,
This is my first field report. My expectations where high, but I am afraid the report is shameful.
Before start the report I think some context may be needed.
I was in a long term relationship for several years so my game was non-existent at this point, and after the end of that relationship I moved from Brazil to Sydney and have been here for a few months. When I got here I was not in the frame of mind to get involved with girls, just wanted settle down and let the bad memories fade.
Now the time has come to change that, and after reading Mystery and Neil Straus books (asides some others on body language and PNL), I went to my first experiment today. Until now I was just trying to condition myself to keep my gaze and smile when I see a girl, this is idiotic, but it is not easy to suppress the reflex to look away...
Also I don't know many people in Australia besides the guys from work and some neighbours, none of them are suitable wing men, for many reasons that are not important to explain now! Then I am going out solo, which makes everything more difficult.
Anyway let's go to the report itself, shall we?
I heard of this cuban bar and I knew for a fact that there would be lots of girls there today so there I go. wearing nice shoes with jeans and long sleeves shirt with a scarf matching the colors, and given that I am Brazilian and have the physical traits of south-american I really was looking properly dressed for the place. Well, aside from good Mojitos the place was crap! 45 later minutes I left and decided to follow a suggestion from this forum and go to CARGO Bar in darling harbor.
There, since it was 8:30 pm most of the people were having happy hours with large groups eating and drinking. Large groups seating are a challenge I can't deal with, therefore the bar was the best option. In the bar I see these two girls wearing exactly the same clothes, and I open with a joke regarding the clothes, they laugh say it was a coincidence and runaway... Crap! I try on more set and fail again.
So, I decided to find myself a guy to be my wingman. I see two guys drinking on a table I open then and they tell me politely that I am interrupting their date... They were gay... Crap again!
Other 2 guys and I approach them trying to be friendly but more cautious, after the gay couple episode. They are friendly, but them the rest of their groups get there and they leave to other venue and leave me alone again. I got a little upset...
I grab a bear and starting watch a soccer match on the TV while I wait for the happy hour to end and the action begin.
They open the dance floor and I see this 3 girls (1 brunet 8, 1 blond 8 and a skiny brunet 7) dancing alone. The sound is to loud to try to open using standard techniques , therefore I try to exploit one of my strengths... I can actually dance quite well, tehrefore I go to the dance floor and start dancing close to these gilrs, they seems to like it and start giggling a and look at me, and show other clear IOI. Long story short, others guys come to the dance floor, but my dance technique kind of keep me as the alpha and the girls really look like being interested. I was still using my scarf and the brunet 8, grab it and pull me closer... I was not going to let her lead the way, so I took it from her and after she made a sad face I get my scarf put around her and pull her close. after some minutes like this, the other guys around start even to be suportive of my approach, and I was under the impression that I was the alpha male at the dance floor. But suddenly the girls got their stuff and leave. One of the guys around ask me what happened and I cant say what was wrong, against the advise of that guy I leave after the girls but after I got to them outside of the venue I realize that it was not a good idea. Too late... they simply ignore me and the security guy did not let me come back in the same way I came out and there is a huge line to get in again.
Upset I decided to go to another venue. I have been before to a place that plays 70,80,90 music (The Retro), so just to be in a familiar place there I go. Again loud music and dance floor. Again the same technique: find some pretty girls and start dancing around them. and again the same result, giggles, they come very close starting suggesting dance with me and then leave. this happens around 4 times. I stoped doing this and observed that other guys use about the same system but they end up on what I would call dirty dancing. The problem is that if I try the dirty dance stuff my understand is that I will probably be skipping steps and the aftermatch can not be very positive. And I really don feel confortable with the dirty dance approach...
Summing to that, one of the bartenders (blond
, gave me lots of IOI's, but since she was working I could not approach her. Perhaps she was just playing the patrons but I did not see her doing the same to other guys..
At 2am my feet are hurting and I deceided to go home.
Well, that is it. Any comments, suggestions or advices?
